Well done Jenkins, Tachikawa it is - I thought that would be much harder, and I had such a good image lined up next with three airfields on it - two still existing, one long gone.
The history of Ras al Hadd seems to be quite well hidden. I knew the area when I did a tour in the Gulf decades back, 1969-70, and visited Masirah occasionally from my base at Muharraq. I also understand it was built by the US, but why? Did they have any military involvement in the area in WW2? Or did they build it for UK use? It's listed by Wikipedia, but with no information.
My next offering, should last all of a few minutes:

Rapide G-AYIR:
Standby please.
The aircraft was being prepared for flight, with the commander and seven passengers on board. The left engine was started first, followed, after priming, by the right engine. Immediately after the right engine started the pilot saw a flame, which appeared to originate from the outboard section of its engine cowling. Believing the right wing to have caught fire, he shut down both engines. The pilot then assisted with passenger evacuation, which had been initiated by the ground crew when the fire broke out. Ground crew also tackled the fire, with hand held appliances, and had extinguished the fire when the aerodrome fire service arrived on scene.
Interesting airfield; my source says it was originally built with a runway 01/19 and a runway 17/35 ie within 20 deg of each other but another source says construction on one runway (doesn't say which one but I assume it was 17/35) was abandoned because it would have meant heavily loaded Halifaxes climbing out over a built up area.
Looks like there could have been another runway about 07/25 originally too.
