Embarrassment
Gentlemen, my sincere apologises . My source "Luftfahrt International" included the photograph in an article on the Martin B26 Marauder Aircraft. Taking up Graeme's points and checking with the full photograph it is of course the Douglas A20 Havoc. Sabredog clearly identified the aircraft as the Douglas A20 at post # 10575 therefore the accolade should go to him. Many thanks Graeme it has taught me to check and double check ones sources and not take them at face value .

I can't find a precise name for this, but the internet keeps referring to it as the Oblique Wing Research Aircraft built by NASA?
