It was intended for the same market as the DHC-7 but no connection and its not Canadian. You are in the right part of the world though.

Unless i am mistaken,i am sure we had this before,as far as i can remember it was called something like General Aircraft Corp, GAC 2000,does that ring a bell with anybody?

Morning....well, Irishair almost has it, but I cannot see that we have had it before. It is from General Aircraft, but it's not the GAC-2000.
Despite the 3 prop blades it was to be a turboprop. PT6A engines.

Yes it is the GAC-100. Looks like it got to the mock-up stage , but no further. Several references in Flight, including:

Looks like GAC were also expecting some military interest judging by this model:
I see it was mentioned in another forum, so maybe that's where you had the thought from Irishair? It had been incorrectly referred to as Australian!
