You have it of course Brian. As I'm still on the darn blackberry I can't post one of my favourite pix as I hand off to you: a pair of CF101 Voodoos on a clear morning with Mt Arrowsmith in the background.
Take it away sir . . .

Thanks grizz. Here is the next mystery aerodrome. The airport is still active, and the hangar still stands.

Correct Mr_G Well done Presently known as Halim Perdanaskusuma Airport, WIHH, former Dutch Air Force base and former primary international airport serving Jakarta, on the island of Java. The hangar is visible on Google Earth, as are DC-3 hulks, perhaps those of the ones visible on the photograph. Your turn.

Madang, north coast of Papua New Guinea.

In 1965 the second busiest airport in the world (for a/c movements) after O'Hare.

Open house if correct.

Who has control? Do you mean "open house"? In that case, here is a legitimate "open house" response, plus I have no idea which aerodrome this is. If you can confirm, with evidence, please reply.

Not unlike my 'home' airfield, Sleap. On reflection there is a missing village!

I would agree (missing village et al!) - Sleap

*edit*

Evidence (as requested):

Second photo shows small meandering water course on the near side of the airfield boundary - looking south over Sleap airfield (in Google Earth) gives same runway layout and the small water course still exists just north of the airfield.

Also, the first photo has a date of 1942 - Sleap didn't open till 1943 so the "under construction" phase would tally datewise.....

I'll concur; I'm 100% certain that 'flyingwing' is correct.

Sleap Aerodrome

Thankyou very much gentlemen So, if flyingwing, minuteman, and TheChitterneFlyer have a mystery aerodrome to post, I have no objections. Otherwise, I suppose it is open house.

That was quick.
Obviously you can't fool Mr Grubby with Sepia Tint and Pseudo British Registrations. Photo taken at Old Rhinebeck Sept 2008.
Over to you Clint.

Thanks OBP.

Interesting that the original G-ACDB stalled and crashed at Sandridge, Herts 24/6/41. Then it was wearing the marks BB 725.

Here is the next picture.
