Not in Maldives

Leaves Island in India

Tiger. Hm. Tamil Tigers, Tamil Nadu, Bengal. Wossa islands?

Andamans, but they are not "very close".



Would Goa be "Mainland India" or not?

Northern Hemisphere,Regdep. The geographical area has been mentioned on here recently! The airfield/airport design should also provide a clue.
