Doh! You're right of course. It's been a while since I was in the Mighty Mil!!

PS Maybe it was the export left hand drive version of the Mil

Case Closed

The door has been identified as a cockpit door from an An-12. The more commonly photographed door on the An-12 is the pressure door between the galley and the cargo hold. There is a lighter door between the galley and the cockpit and that's the one we have. Thanks to everyone who assisted.
