Well ....

I was more worried about the number of struts and wished some away. But you are right. There's even more if you want to be pedantic.

But its cylinders kind of have a nice air bath and it has, after all two wings, which would render it a biplane, would it not?

And what would you not do to keep the thread alive.

You mean the one you said lasts five minutes or the one I said will last one?

Edit for follow-up: And don't try to trip me on my perceived double-negatives. Should I or should I not post your next one to keep the thread alive? Nice and easy.

it still looks German to me and, the propeller looks big compared to the rest of the airframe...

Maybe Benz or Maybach power...

I'm stuck...

Martin why don't you say where it comes from? Does not make any sense to list all 200-plus countries that existed since this a/c saw the daylight (assuming that the challenge is from a photo of something that existed....).

If not, I'd say Lithuania.

What did I say LM: ДАР-2 is it not because of the leading edge, even if it has the 160 hp Mercedes.

Central European? No!
Thats generous! Where does it end in the west, east, south, and north? Just asking, do not mean anything.

I know you're not going to believe this Reg, I've not been lurking, but I've just stopped for coffee and saw Martin's last clue and bingo!

biplane | 1923 | 0675 | Flight Archive Mercedes

Edited to say that if I hadn't typed the first paragraph

Well done mate! BTW, re Graemes biplane yesterday morning, all I did was put "60 built" French Biplane into Wiki and there were three returns and only one actually French.
