I now have to go for an hour or so.

You said the challenge is not American, but was the engine?

Good morning skytrain! No, it is not French, either. And not Russian.

German Blohm und Voss Project? Precursor to the Bv-155 high altitude interceptor?

Was it an interceptor?

Spot on Graeme! Blohm & Voss Bv P205, which later became Bv 155, but didn't make it to the war.

I believe it was reclassified as an "Escort Fighter".

Over to you

You know the funny thing is the wing looked familiar. I found the Bv-155C and the wing shape matched, see below...(but I wouldn't have found the Bv-205).

Now the sad thing is, I don't have a challenge...open house.

In fact, it looked a bit more interesting than that

What a good time for a coffee break.

We haven't had one of these for ages:

Is that the monster from the movie "Snakehead Terror?"

Or is it some sort of WW1 dirigible?

So nothing to do with hot air or helium?

What's the structure below the...nose? I thought it was some sort of trapeze to capture a parasite fighter like the Curtiss Sparrowhawk.

The structure beneath the nose is the tethering system I assume.

A paraglider? Trike
Nope.

A part of it is helium-filled.

Looking up at it.

Apart from tethering, the stuff at the front does something else.
