Ken. If you really want that information I could give you a copy of the spreadsheet and you could work it out in no time.
Mel, thanks but no thanks. You perhaps missed my "subtlety". See PM Mel.

Well it is the Asboth AH-4 but it's from Hungary.

I'll give to you anyway.

Skytrain has control

Hungarian engineer Oscar von Asboth, who had worked on the two PKZ machines, designed and tested four different helicopters between 1928 and 1931.
His final machine, the AH-4 used counter-rotating coaxial main rotors powered by a 110hp Clerget rotary engine with multiple hinged vanes in the rotor downwash. Control was very poor, but by mid-1930 the aircraft reportedly attained an altitude of 30m and covered 3.2km at about 19km/h.

Now that you are back with us for a few mins then at least you can put some effort into coming up with some more interesting stats. So your task is:
Is that the subtelty which you mentioned to Mel, Ken?

All very quiet so a clue. Aircraft first flew in the late 1930's and flew with a variety of different engines, including a Britsh one (the aircraft itself is not British), Designed for endurance flight training.

Is that the subtelty which you mentioned to Mel, Ken?
That'll be it LM and I take pride in the fact that it worked

Hi Martin...nice to see someone around today. Not French mate. Incidentally the silhouette features the english engine - a Bristol design.

Evening all!
Good to see you're back LM!

since
the silhouette features the English engine - a Bristol design
and since the engine portrayed in the silhouette is, as far as I can see, a horizontally opposed one, am I wrong in assuming we're talking about a Bristol Cherub?

Hi HappyPass - you are not wrong, it is a Bristol Cherub - which was proven to be underpowered. Other engines tried included a Salmson - again underpowered!

Supper now.
German? Anything to do with Arado, Messerschmitt or Blume?
Really can't find anything with google... it's really a challenge, this challenge of yours!
When I'm back I'm perhaps going to look into Ferriere's 3-vues, just in case...

HappyPass, not German (head east!) and you won't find in Ferriere's 3-views.

Some further info - believe first flown 1939. Designed to have endurance in excess of 20 hours, but due to lack of a suitable engine it seems that was never achieved.

Good morning irishair....not a Polikarpov but you are in the right country. Not one of major designers. They appear to have been a glider producer in the main.

Thanks, Ken. I needed all the clues for that one.
Great challenge!

This one probably won't last quite so long.

Ton.
