Norwich's Challenge..
Well, basically, it is a DC-4/C-54 Skymaster... probably the military model because of the horizontal radio installation. But if you want an exact model type... and because that looks like a Canadian sticker on the power pedestal, I'll crawl waaaay out on a limb and guess that it may be a Canadair DC4M Northstar or a Canadair C-4 Argonaut.

Well Ozbeowulf, You are 99.9% correct, its here in the UK, I would have loved to have seen a northstar or argonaut last year, over here, but I don't think we have any left ? From its history, it was registered in Canada at some time during its life ? Must be easier now ? Keith.

Breaking news: I now believe this might be one of the old British Air Ferries Carvairs, based on the low point from which the photo was taken and the fact that the DC4/C54 has been used before.

The next "What Cockpit"
Thanks, Keith...
That was an excellent challenge! Well done! It was easy to identify it as a DC-4 and the Canadian sticker suckered me into thinking a Merlin-powered variant was the model type you wanted.
Now for a change of pace...I can't see this lasting very long. Just a bit of fun...

Full marks to larssnowpharter! It is indeed the FA-330A! Imagine being dragged along by a U-boat, whirring and freezing a hundred feet up over the North Atlantic in December on this......
(One rotor blade seems to be missing from this museum example)
Open house, the man says....
