Yes Mel, your are correct. For the times, it was an advanced bomber design of all-metal construction. Too heavy and cursed with a structurally weak wing, only one DB-1 was produced. You have control.

Ah Noyade ! You are narrowing it down a little more ! Not a DC-6 .... I was flying in this as a paying passenger in 2011 ? that should help ??

Noyade ! Yes that is correct, in fact the very same aircraft as your link N836D ! which I was lucky enough to fly from Opa Locka to St Maarten via Puerto Rico in earlier in the year ! as you say sycamore may deserve the credit for this !! Here is the landing at St Maarten !
