one gets to :

My excuse is I identified the hangar as a T2; ridiculous really as they were a wartime construction; I don't know the designation of the domed roof hangar at Yatesbury but it was still there about 10 years ago.
Hmm 14 August '39 eh? Poland was invaded 1 Sep 39. Did someone know something? I know Churchill was warning everyone having read his memoirs, but no-one was taking much notice were they?

As you will have seen I really didn' t have a clue myself!
Having a pool party at the moment whilst we watch the local airborne celebrations of the first flight of the Harvard. I'll post in a couple of hours.

Course I should have qualified that as it's not the original Luton Airport (Barton) where the Luton Minor was conceived! It was that double hangar in the centre that gave it away - still there I think.

Jenkins you too must be an ex-Brat. Halton House in the background is a give-away.
!948 52nd entry engine running as quoted "a bit rich mixture".
Notice the fire bottles in front of the aircraft all left to their own devices with all the brave brats doing a runner.
I have got subsequent pictures if anybody is interested.

It is RAF Merryfield, the picture must have been taken in around 1953.
The woods in the background were regularly shot by a local organised shoot - my father and his business partner used to wait for the birds to cross the aerodrome fence and then bag a pair of pheasants each before legging it!
Here's another one for you, not too difficult I would imagine:
Austin 1100 and Morris Oxford Ser. IV?
Edited to blur the numberplates on the Landrover and the registrations of the Carvair and Ambassador to make it a little more challenging.
