The Most Beautiful Aircraft in the World
The Most Beautiful Aircraft in the World is the Grob 109.
Why?
That's because to me the most beautiful aircraft in the world is the one I'm flying right now. OK, at the moment I'm sitting at the computer watching the rain trickling down the (outside of the) window. But the Grob 109 is the aircraft I flew last weekend and, all being well, it's the next aircraft I'll fly (on Monday, all being well). So to me, it's the best looker of them all.
I'm sure every pilot would agree with the sentiment though not necessarily the type.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned anything by FG Miles or for that matter by Airspeed. British y'know.
Then again what was the failed Canadian Supersonic Jet called? Seem to remember it wasn't bad looking.
Then Westland. Their twin rivalled the DH Hornet imho.
Ah! de heavy land. The 4 engined Rapide. the tailess 110 and the racer that crashed, designed by the Technical School.
Now I'm either giving you clever sods a chance to shine naming these types.
or the Tescos box of wine is now empty.

Another vote for the Super VC10.
As an aside, if you're an XB-70-fancier, you can see some video footage (inc. cockpit) of the machine in action at this link: http://www.dfrc.nasa.gov/gallery/movie/XB-70/index.html
