My apologies Ladies and Gents. How many years is it going to take before I stop repeating F/A crew bus bitching?

Greetings everyone... has anyone actually attended Breeze interview apart from the video interview / recording. If yes then some insights would be helpful.

I have also noticed they are going through a recruiter now.

You don't have to go through a recruiter. You can apply on their website recruiting page.

The company wished to use the Aussie crew for BNE-LAX. However the FAAA made it perfectly clear that they do not accept the crew rest on the 330 for that sector length. Which is why the Jetconnect crew are being used.

I saw the 330 in LAX a few days ago. I was surprised, I didn't realize they could go that far.

How does one go about filling out Airlineapps when you don’t have any of the FAA requirements just the Aussie equivalents? Also, will places like gojet, PSA, commutair, and Skywest expect you to get an FAA class 1 medical and FCC license before offering you a class date?

You can get a FAA medical in Australia and the FCC license is done online.

thanks for the reply I’ve had a few regionals keen to interview so I’ll go that way first

I'm starting to see some chatter about Spirit Airlines taking Aussies on an E3; this is a decent place to be. So far, it's limited data but appears to be those who've been here at another carrier like a regional and make the jump from there. I don't see evidence of anyone going from the boat with no FAA tickets to Spirit nor can I find a formal announcement from Spirit that they're recruiting Aussies like Frontier has done.

I've tried to ask around but don't have any firm data from my limited sources. In any event, apply to Spirit and see what happens.

Spirit have been making official posts about E3s for a while now. I have heard they may be looking at taking E3 without FAA ATP as of next week. Basically sponsoring the ATP-CTP and FAA ATP same as the regionals. Currently they are taking E3s who already have some time flying in the US.

bafanguy 7th Apr 2022 22:35

C.C,

OK, I looked for something like that and couldn't find it. So the rumors are true. Providing the FAA ATP would be a pretty big step for an LCC like Spirit.

Where did you find that picture ?

There are a number of recruiters on LinkedIn who have been posting about it. And in the current climate anything is possible! Interesting times indeed.

Yes, that can happen. It's just one of the risks associated with the E3 visa. I wouldn't doubt though that at sometime after the first renewal Spirit, Frontier et Al start offering EB3 green cards, in much the same way CommutAir (and Atlas I believe) do.

DYS,

Hard to out guess management but I wonder if once they've spent money training a guy they'd be reluctant to cut him loose. I guess if the immigration status process is cheaper than training an E3's replacement....?

I wonder if someone on LinkedIn could find the details of Spirit's offer as mentioned in the picture posted above in post #1962.

Could someone familiar with Commutair's EB3 green card offer and process for current E3 pilots give an insight to how (and whether) it works? Specifically what is the financial and time commitment on the company's part, specific criteria and requirements. Once obtained does the EB3 allow the Aussie to work for other companies without restrictions?

Many Aussies have opted into the no-interview flow Aviate program with the condition of obtaining working rights without sponsorship at the time of flow, so if Commutair has an established green card process it would surely make them a top choice for E3 pilots looking for career progression.

Found a scrap of info on AV Canada about Atlas and E3s. Couldn't get through to Gecko Aviation to verify details. An Atlas new hire on APC said 70% of his new-hire class were Aussies on E3s (didn't say how big the class was):

Stinky wrote: Fri Oct 22, 2021 6:20 pm Crappy pay. High attrition rate at Atlas but maybe interesting to someone.

https://geckoaviation.com/atlas-air-cur ... nHg8cJlcx8" Atlas are in the process of including the license conversion into their training, meaning sponsorship will be open to non FAA/ATP holders! So, stay tuned into Gecko for any updates."

Now that will be even more interesting... offer a US visa and pay for US FAA conversion? I'm sure some who have an FAA license now will apply, but I bet lots will flock when they throw in a free conversion

Spirit is taking E3s. At the moment it is just renewals from other 121 carriers because it's an easier onboarding if they already have an FAA ATP.

I have not heard the rumor that they are ramping up to take fresh E3s, but it wouldn't surprise me. Things are getting shaken up here that have many looking to jump ship, who maybe 4 weeks ago saw themselves staying at Spirit for life, myself included. Spirit has many new aircraft coming this year, as well as continually announcing new destinations, so they need to keep the growth going.

You'll make more money at Spirit than at a regional and you'll get 320 time. Every airline has its issues, and Spirit has many, but I'd for sure be gunning for an LCC over a regional if you have the opportunity.
