Does anyone know if they take people with an EASA license? All the ads are geared towards Australian pilots with CASA licenses, but would assume it is possible to do the same as an EASA pilot assuming an aussie citizen.

Two separate issues. Your citizenship gives you eligibility for the E3. You would have to go through the licence verification process with EASA rather than CASA but that shouldn’t be a problem

All the regional websites seem to have an email address for contacting the recruiters/HR people. Might contact them for an answer.

Hope it works out if that's what you want.

many icao license is fine so long as you meet ATP Mins per the FARS.

obviously Aussie citizenship required for E3 which you have.

Anyone know how you recieve your LCA? Is it an actual hard copy letter sent to you or is it a printable email?

I have one inbound but plan on travelling before it arrives and would prefer to not have to sit at home diligently watching the mail box.

I got mine via email then I printed it out. You should confirm with the recruiter.

Depends on the company and the fsdo, but pretty much all of them email it then send a hard copy

What is Air Wisconsin doing re hiring visa pilots ? They made a splash about a year ago by telling a guy on the AvCanada website that they were taking expat visa pilots. Since then not much has come out about that effort.

Some U.S. regional airlines are now sponsoring Canadians for the H1B Vis -

Here's what's available on AW's expat hiring but I'm not sure what to make of it. If you look at the link below, there are 5 FO positions listed for 2019. #3, 4, 5 have 2019 start dates, one of which is listed as E3. So, what is AW doing about hiring expats ? I can't tell from the info listed:

Buddy of mine was on the hiring panel there at AW and said they were having a really hard time recruiting. Not surprised they’d be after E3 candidates.

Interesting. If AW are having a tough time getting new blood, they're rather circumspect in their effort to accept E3s or H1Bs. The number of AW visa intakes on that website is very low and their recruiting website has the standard "Legal authorization to work in the United States".

And the subject of recruiting Canadians has been unaddressed on the AvCanada website for a long time.

Air Wisconsin would probably be only an email away from an E3 LCA.

I can confirm that they'll also do H1B which is an immigrant visa, which could open up the US for the long term, green card, etc.

I wouldn't put much weight on what the visa tally websites have to report on visa issuances.

Good to know. I have no idea how the visa thing works. Just passing along bits & pieces as they appear.

If AW is another option for Aussies, it's good they know about it. "Legal authorization to work in the United States" doesn't tell the whole story.

When I was at Oshkosh a few years ago had a chat to Air Wis. they certainly do take E3 (or did).

If your thinking about it, why not plan a trip to Oshkosh, best Airshow in the world and go see a few of the recruiting regionals at the same time

If you have 1500 hours and a sense of adventure.......

ExpressJet recently admitted to taking E3s. Now they've announced a rotorwing-transition program where they kick in some money to help rotor pilots get their fixed-wing ratings and then go to XJT as F/Os. So here's a question:

Will they take a 1500-hour Aussie rotorwing pilot (have to be a 1500 hour pilot) into this program under an E3, give him the money to get fixed wing FAA CPL/IR/MEL and then run him through new hire training on the jet like the fixed-wing people ? Seems like a stretch but it's just a question:

The catch that I found was that you aren't eligable (Read entitled to work in the US) for a job until you have an e3. If your not eligable then you can't get the rotor transition money. Oh and to get an e3, you need an LCA which they won't give you unless you have all of the hours.

That was the word from the few regionals I dealt with...... I haven't communicated with XJT.

Yep, just a hypothetical question on my part. It was a stretch to start with.

But, contacting their recruiting people would get an official answer. :)

I suspect you're right though. There are interesting times where most anything could happen.

Well, we need to find the "Test Aussie", a person with 1500 hours of rotor-only time on a CASA license and have them apply to XJT in the rotor transition program as an E3 and see what happens. :cool:

since the PSA raise went though here in the states all the domestic applicants wanting AA WOs for the travel benefits and flow are going next door to PSA. Unfortunately they don't do the E3 (or Envoy the other WO). So PDT is a quicker run now, at least on the front end for interview, indoc, etc. The pay raise is rumoured to follow through at PDT in May/June so this situation may be temporary? Last time this happened (2016) PDT got a huge uptick in applications when the pay was bumped up. I hope history repeats but I will believe it when I see it.

However anyone thinking of applying I would suggest to do it now to get a spot on the front of the (possible to likely) wave.
