Could someone familiar with Commutair's EB3 green card offer and process for current E3 pilots give an insight to how (and whether) it works? |
Quick clarification if I could - back when I used to look at this thread when it started my understanding was that you had to have a degree of some kind to be eligible for the E3? I'm just a flight school out of Year 12 guy - only hold a Diploma.
|
No degree required if you have 'equivalent' experience. That 'equivalent' experience is assessed by the person interviewing you (at the US Consulates) for the E3 issue.

Hey guys, does anyone know the current wait times for the e3 visa appointments in Melbourne?
|
So its a bit of a toss-up depending on who does the interview? The way I understood it is you need to get a letter from a university or the like, to say that your experience equals a degree. 3 Years experience is considered equal to 1 year of study. You pay for this letter. When I did mine a year ago they cost anywhere from US$200 to $500. That being said, I was never asked for it at my interview. Of course if I didn't have one they would have wanted it I'm sure. |

You can google all you like, it won't give you an accurate timeframe. You'll find out online when you book the appointment. There are a few facebook groups tracking wait times as well.
|
Yeh I saw that, but I was questioning it’s accuracy. I was requesting for first hand experience. I heard that there may be a way to expedite the process depending on the start date.

So yeah, that Google result is the most logical information one can trust. |

How will you be able to travel back to Australia without a passport ?
From my research, it appears to be a couple of days turnaround. |
Lee a promise - you keep making statements that are completely
[QUOTE][Emergency Appointment needs a genuine emergency reason./QUOTE] I got mine brought forward from October to 2 days later using the expedite option, and did not declare an emergency reason. |

I believe the idea is that you wait for your visa to be issued and get your passport back. Do a bit of sightseeing.

How does one go about filling out Airlineapps when you don’t have any of the FAA requirements just the Aussie equivalents? Also, will places like gojet, PSA, commutair, and Skywest expect you to get an FAA class 1 medical and FCC license before offering you a class date?
I’m actually getting ready for interview at present which I’m not really keen on but must do goodluck to you sir |

I've never heard of this. Sounds like another scam to me. Not one person I know that went through the E3 process did this. It's 100% not required and doesn't say anywhere in any documentation that it's required.
I got the educational equivalency done by one of the approved mobs and emailed it off. Got my visa back two weeks later. It's not a scam, it is occasionally nessesary. I would do anything I can to avoid consulates with known issues though. Never heard of any similar problems at Perth or Melbourne. |
