Personally I think that it is occasionally frightening out there now, any reduction in service level would be very foolish.....Then a gungho citation driver launches and is unhappy to be restricted by the nasty ATCs
Oh my god......how nauseating Is this guy for real? Bet he drives a volvo and his wife beats on him...

From the latest mailout:
"IFR OPERATIONS IN CLASS E AIRSPACE
Except in an emergency pilot to pilot exchage on ATC frequencies should not take place in class E airspace. Pilots using the VFR climb and descent and VFR-on-top procedures should not use radio arranged seperation but should use radio alerted see and avoid. That is they should visually avoid traffic that ATC has informed them of."
This means that we will be given traffic as per class G, be expected to get a mental picture of what's happening, talk to ATC if we're getting worried, look out the window and hope for the best. Throw in multicom, HF based DTI & low level class G radio requirements and the flight deck is getting rather busy.

No, it's getting simpler and safer. It must be so because Dick Smith said so.

Once again, your compelling use of logic and facts has convinced the multitude to the wisdom of your viewpoint. Well done.

IFR Pick-up, VFR on top, VMC climb & descent. All of them only cover the lowest common denominator, but it is justified by being done that way in Goober Land, Home of the Invaders... In ICAO, NZ and a bunch of other places these procedures are used (and in the poor old LLAMP project ) you need agreement between BOTH aircraft involved, and the controller gets a vote too.

But I guess considering the opinions of others is a bit beyond broken-down f*ck-wits like Winstun.

Besides, driving a Volvo P40 while being tit-whipped by my wife sounds pretty neat.
