It's not only engineering that is important - so are punctuation and spelling if you want to be taken seriously as a professional pilot.

Previously Dec 5 was bandied about.. Unless CASA want another Compass/Ansett debacle, they better stamp and sign their documents. In Triplicate. Bonza does not equal Compass..

And if it does.. There will be riots.

There really won’t be.

My understanding is that Bonza has to demonstrate it is complying with the more restrictive of the Canadian Regs and Australian regs. As well as having to demonstrate that the flight crew have been trained in the differences in Australian airspace etc.

This mob have been trying to do everything on the quick and the cheap right from the onset, including the rediculous notion of trying to outsource their flight ops department.

So good on CASA for making sure this mob are complying with all the regs that other serious operators do.

OOL DRW flights due to start today being cancelled until 2 JAN and blamed on regulatory approvals for Flair aircraft.

To be fair I only gave them 12 months, so it looks like they might surpass that somewhat

Is the issue that they have 1 airframe in unscheduled maint and CASA not giving the Flair the approval?

I can not see why Oz couldn't crew a Flair bird for even just 1 return sector per day to get Bonza out of a hole
A bit of overtime verses paying Nauru to do the flying

Memory is dimming as the years pass, but don't you have to have the specific aircraft on your AOC?

And the fact that it’s a Canadian registered aircraft, so the pilots need to be licensed in Canada, and the pilots checked and trained by the airline concerned that owns the aircraft……

Deano you really have zero idea do you

AB and F8 operate the exact same fleet, where they are registered should be just a bit of paperwork
My understanding is that the Canadian crew was more so the issue

You simply don’t know what you don’t know.

State of registration is everything..

I have flown a few airframes here in Australia that are now operating in a different country under their registration, For me to go overseas, say to the EU and operate one of these aircraft I would need to sit about sixteen exams and undertake their medical. The laws of physics are the same. The aircraft is most certainly operated the same way, manufacturers procedures.

An Australian LAME can no longer sign off work on the aircraft either, cabin crew not employable on the aircraft either.

There you have it. The importance of state of registration.

I operated a Danish registered aircraft on my AOC for six months flown by my crew and maintained by Oz MRO done under an exchange of agreements between CASA and the Danish CAA.
I also obtained an FAA licence based on my Oz certificate in a day at the Oakland FSDO.

Hmm, I just thought the engineering and cabin crew principles were pretty much the same between Oztralia and Canada. Keep the MAX safe to fly etc.

I wasn’t talking about specific countries. Simply the basic problem operators face. Also CASA will often sign off on short term arrangements.

I am. Australia and Canada have pretty much the same aviation safety records. Pretty much the same Pilot and LAME requirements. Pretty much the same Pilot and Engineering pay-scales. They are both prosperous first world countries that adhere to aviation regulations.

So what the flying duck is CASA's problem? Oh wait we have to have our Christmas booze-up and play lots of golf and porn, and THEN we'll sign off what we were meant to now, in January. This is beyond a joke. Thousands of working class Australians left stranded and out of pocket. As for the poster that called Bonza a mickey mouse monkey operation, it's a SME Startup, Duh. They listened to Tony Fernandes, only way to break into the aussie market.

Good on the Flair Pilots and Cabin Crew though, enjoy the GC and down south beaches!
