Incorrect...again
There would be 50+ staff on each HNL flight with nil yield. So the final passenger load has little reflection on a revenue point of view.
I don't have a dog in this often emotive QF vs JQ fight but I think its worthy calling out blatant untruths.
Staff travellers are irrelevant. (In any case, there are less than 20 staff total trying to get to HNL today....But none of them will get on the JQ flights unless there are some commercial no-shows.
There are ZERO commercial seats available on today's JQ HNL flights! (Try making a booking on any number of travel websites if you don't believe )
I believe the dual brand strategy is probably working very well for the QF group.

The CI put into the FM is not the airline CI, there is a graph/formula used to convert the airline CI to the airframe CI. The CI value to use in the FM changes based upon airframe, FM, and engines. An airframe CI of around 50 is only an airline CI of around 10, that is MRC, not LRC. Airline CI of 0 represents a FM CI of around 35 +/-5.

An example, looking at the "Quick Determination of F-Plan" charts in the FCOM, for a 3200 nm sector M0.80 is 39802 kg with a time of 7:03. For M0.82 41102 kg with a time of 6:54. 1300 kg more for a savings of 9 minutes.
Assume a return trip a day (around 14 hours), 2600 kg savings a day per aircraft, 50 aircraft, 130t savings a day.

So, yeah, about that fleet order instead of an argument about the various virtues of LRC vs. MRC...
This pilot body is desperately due for some good news with the pending announcement of yet another RIN, this time off the 380.
It may well see another bunch of FOs with 15+ years service demoted.

Popgun, going to have to call you on this one:
The reason there appear to be zero seats to HNL today on JQ is that JQ Intl do not accept same day bookings. To anywhere.
Go to JQ's commercial site and try to book any Intl flight for the same day.
Look further out and you will see plenty of JQ fares one way to HNL as low as $399. Not indicative of full flights.
Back to Fleet Order Speculation, shall we?
Actually, I'll edit to say that this side debate is not as 'off topic' as it may first appear. IF the travel market to the US has softened, and it seems it has, it will be because the low Aussie dollar is finally starting to bite for outbound travel to the US. In my own experience, going to HNL next month, hotel prices etc. look ridiculously expensive in AUD now. (I'm mostly staying with friends).
Now, if you take into account that the shiny new Dreamliners are paid for in USD, then the 'bargain prices' are not such a bargain any more in AUD. And there will have been a shift in the minds of the Mathematicians.
Of course, what is needed is to 'reach out' to the US market, who have new spending power Downunder and let them know it would be a good time to come over for some barbecued shrimp. Of course the Smartest Guys in the Room, in a classic Dummy Spit, have severed their ties with Australian Tourism, who would be the very people you'd need for this campaign.

Nunc est bibendum
Friday next week. QF showing 27 empty to HNL. 89%. JQ 122. 64%.
Saturday next week. QF showing 54. 78%. JQ 125. 63%.
Anyway, point made by both sides. Statistics, lies, yield, etc.
No announcement at results publication I reckon. They want to give market time to see and savour their genius of big profit, dividend, before they then disappoint market by ordering a few billion worth of aeroplanes. I'd love it if they went the other way.

QF will be working hammer and tongs to offload the 380/744 - even if just to force the huge pay drop on those pesky pilots. The lockout worked on the pilots, AJ is a genius Heard that from a broker...

How about you ask him to cure cancer while you're at it?
Give me a break!
I hope your tongue is firmly planted in your cheek VJ. That's the biggest load of rot I've heard in a long time.
No. The airline is going 'broker' from incompetent management. It is being saved (from previous and current inanities) short term by the $AUD and Texas sweet crude - as almost anyone with half a brain knows. But that vote seemingly allowed wee-man big boasting rights. And much as it galls me to hear it, I can but report what was heard. And that was 'We told you so, the lockout worked'... Admittedly only 3rd hand but that's what I heard from someone who has no idea I had anything to do with QF. Nor, I hasten to add, would I trust them to look after a bicycle, but that's not the issue. What's disturbing is the presentation of the data to the market. More chocolate rations for everyone (as long as you are a Party Member of course)

I think the HNL loads this week for JQ would also be in error for 'off season' as all the Bali Pax not able to fly due ash cloud were offered change of destination with less cost than normal etc.
Many people with a beach holiday week or two planned would have taken the offer up I'm sure.
A question is where is the Brand competing for low cost business on the HNL sectors other than its self or Hawaiin?

I don't know. Do they need to tell the market as soon as they make a decision, or is it that they just can't tell anybody else before informing the market?
I've heard that Delivery positions are locked in (been hearing that for 6 months)
There must be a reason the LH EA is about the 787 and not a NEW TYPE (ie decision made long ago, just putting the pieces in place) and that the negotiators had to sign non disclosure statements.
I guess if the board says NO, somebody else can have them.

ASX listing rules CONTINUOUS DISCLOSURE: LISTING RULES 3.1 – 3.1B
See the flow chart on page 5 - "incomplete proposal or negotiation" DOES NOT require the market to be informed.

Of course, *everything* remains in an incomplete state until it is finalized, and then the market is immediately informed. That is the loophole right there.
