777X Launched
But will we ever see it?
Over 250 ordered at the launch in Dubai, including 150 with 50 options for EK.
Guess if QF ever decides they want them, we may see them around 2030. Looks like the production slots are well and truly tied up for many years now.
Guess the 350 is the great hope for an efficient long range airliner.

Correction to the above. On top of the 200 777's, they have also had a reserved splurge on Airbus metal with 50 new 380's ordered.
Guess someone can make the skypig work.
Where will this Middle East madness end?

If QF or BA really wants them, Boeing will give each or either some reserved slots.
BA was reportedly complaining that the aircraft was tailored too closely to EK's requirements.
There's an old saying:
"Money talks and b......t walks".
If anybody outside the sandpit wants the airplane, I'm sure that Boeing would be happy to take a deposit and for a decent order come up with a more suitable dash something model.
Meanwhile, it's hard to argue with the orders placed by the rapidly growing airlines of a certain region.
I'm sure that neither Boeing nor Airbus are crying.
