This offer is not making aviation great again. Employer of choice, I think not. VA you have to do much better than this to stop a mass exodus.

The current EBA is super-inclusive in the total salary for who knows what stupid reason so I would hazard a guess that it's the same.

Get the "no" vote ready. The email from JT shows that the company is realizing that "the competition is recruiting heavily" and that's our best bargaining tool.

The current 777 EBA includes Super, the A330 one does not. Running a few of the percentages, to me it looks like super is not included. I don't think even VA would be so delusional to propose a pay cut, but it will be clarified in time.

Not a surprising offer. VA is either broke or has no respect for the pilot body (or more than likely, both!). Why wait until January, it's an obvious big fat NO.

Let the great VA exodus begin. Given the latest internal email from the very top, there is a crew crisis that is just about to get worse.

Considering a career a VA? Seriously, you'd be better off holding a Stop/Go sign on the side of the road working on your tan chilling out listening to the radio thinking about how you're going to spend all your easy cash.

Blew it

Congrats VA management.

That offer was your last chance to stop what is going to be one of the greatest exoduses from your GA operation (and that's being generous) since the early days. And with no remaining pilots in the country up to the dizzying standards of your HR department, this time it'll be terminal.

Employer of choice? Only if you're an exec.

RIP Virgin

Calm down blue, it was a sarcastic dig at Virgin- maybe I should of been clearer.
That is a little dramatic bloke- VA is not going anywhere it's still a low cost carrier- however just proves what everyone was talking about VA is running on an oily rag, after cleaning out 3/4 of the village and still can't spare any cash.

VHFRT, at the time that EBA was done the government had legislated (or about to can't remember the exact timing) increases in the super guarantee.

For salaries that were non inclusive of super that became a cost to the employer.

For salaries that included super the employee effectively paid for it as they had signed up to a deal that was super inclusive, so the percentage amount of the super could vary without impacting the overall cost of the deal, in short. Any increase in the super guarantee above 9% of your gross pay was funded by reducing your take home pay.

It doesn't matter how much you get paid. Just be a champion of better!

Now i know what JB meant when he says people can't believe how we can do what everyone else says is impossible....pay below market rates and still have people left to fly your aircraft! Brilliant.

Not disagreeing with general sentiment, however for clarity, current LH EBA has super included, but also provides for increases in accordance with super guarantee levee to be funded by Company's, so the .5% increase was actually an increase and not funded from salary. Also, for clarity, the figures quoted in AFAP update are exclusive of super.

Cheers

Currently they are once again saying no duty travel in business ever! (we would rather have the seat empty than have a pilot in it) domestically, and they have also put in so many conditions on the international that you will never ever get it to LA. (and then it's still only sub load on Virgin aircraft only). A "full service" airline (I say that lightly) yet the worst duty travel conditions of any airline. This alone should (as well as the pays, proposed less days off, reduced capped money on D/O) tell guys and girls... no way. we won't accept less than the industry standard. SO pay is still appalling.
The ball is very much in the pilots court. Many many guys and girls currently interviewing and with the 330 international timeline, the is no reason pilots should vote yes to this.

Is my understanding of this correct...

For working a DDO, right now we get a very petty payment however credits towards overtime (so generally it's worth doing an extra trip).

Moving forward, we'll get a "capped 5 hours" (for a 16 hour duty) which works out to a payment very close to the current one, however no overtime credits?

So virtually they're asking us to accept close enough to the same petty DDO payment however give up about 28 hours of overtime pay?

Bizarre concept. Go backwards to keep pace with inflation off an already low starting position. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the financial pickle isn't related to pilot decisions or performance, if anything we've become more efficient over the years. Can we have a show of hands from other groups that have...

Just curious as to what would have been considered as an acceptable ball park figure for SO pay rate?
