It's hardly a good rogering if you go into it with your eyes open, and with a clear plan.
For the same money, I'd take a Jetstar jet over a Link turboprop any day of the week and twice on sundays. You end up with a marketable type rating and much more valuable experience, and far better prospects.
Plus you don't need 50 hours recent NZ IF time to get the Jetstar gig...
Yep, because we all know that New Zealand fixed card ADF approaches are much harder than those in other countries...
Actually Jetstar are starting to look like a breath of fresh air, aren't they?

the requirements have been extended to include a minimum of five (5) New Zealand, fixed card ADF approaches (at night with ****ty backlighting).

And b) unlike the DH-8 boys, I'm guessin that's coz you paid for it.
And c), while fixed card NDB approaches sound wanky, see how you feel about forking out to pay for your own interview as well. . True story.
Come on Remoak, you can do better than that.
Comfy conditions on the Dash contract for reasonable money or getting your guts flogged by assclowns that keep moving the goalposts. You guys are getting wound up over jobs that a, you've never had, and b, havent even applied for. Except for maybe Jimmy.
Move on
J*
ZK-NSN I guess you are another P$ssed off Kiwi turbo-prop driver.....!!!!
If you don't like the conditions at J* don't apply keep flying your BN2, Dash-8 or whatever A/C you are flying around
Low cost companies will never pay the "huge salaries" you are dreaming.
The money overseas is better because the "quality of life" isn't good. That even is true for the Middle East. Now it's a personal choice: Money OR quality of life.
If you want the "big bucks", then leave NZ and have a ****ty life somewhere like others
