All this talk about October.

BB, what is actually going to happen in October? What is the story? What is the reason behind it?

Yes the Pacific is a little wild and unpredictable, but so is the whole game of aviation.
Seems to me that ON/OA have, despite a bit of a turbulent history, kept on going and if their recent history has shown they have been relatively prosperous. In the current world climate not many operators have been expanding, and surely not without doing their homework first, so it is reasonable to assume that things are going quite well at OA.
Must be a dedicated group of people involved in the company, good stuff

for blackbandit:-

et al = latin for "and others".

So, if you read the post in context you will find it is correct. The poster was both agreeing with the sentiments of others (who in turn) agree with the content of the feenix post as well as embracing the feenix post.

BTW I heard OA will be operating under its own 5th freedom right into and out of Honiara after the Solly partnership ends....also heard "Bula" in the pipeline. It appears that OA, against all odds, has gone from strength to strength. Pretty remarkable for a tiny airline in tough economic times. This cannot be by accident, right?! Keep up the good work guys!

October

AFBL, I dont know what sort of drugs you are on, but they are the good stuff.

You do understand that when a government pours money into an airline to keep it running, it doesnt mean that an airline is successful. There is no strength here, it is a sham.

There is no strength to strength. Its government bailout to government bailout.

What happens when the government stops paying?

BooB. You just crack me up mate! So now you're an expert on Govt businesses?! What do you know about what the Nauru Govt does or does not do? Where do you come from fulla? Stick to what you know, ok?! Gawd, really looking forward to "October" then we'll see who's the fool, FOOL! Enlighten us a bit about the Strategic/Solly partnership. Is it actually a long-term thing? What happens if it all fails and payments fall behind, will Strategic stick around and absorb the shorfalls. Islands business can be a bit dodgey if you're new to it. ON/OA know it very well! They've dealt with them for over 30 years! Some IOU from the hey days (HIR-VLI-AKL) still left unpaid. Good luck if you're hooked up with Strategic/Solly.

AFBL, you just mentioned something that the 'other' guys hoped would never come out, debts owed to ON. Ouch!
Most of the neighbours owe squillions! Of course, the airlines names have changed therefore their debts cannot ever be honoured even though the same governments still run them.

cheers

AFBL, yes I know quite a bit about Government owned businesses. I have been called an expert on it, on many occasions.

I think you can rest assured that OA owes FAR FAR more than it is owed. How on earth would i know that??

Without the Government support, you will find that OA is insolvent. How would I know that?

(Just ask your mate Feenwit. If he is who he makes out he is, he will know then answer).

How long do you think the entity will remain an entity when the government stops paying, and Taiwan decides there are richer fishing grounds about?

There is treachery all around you at the moment. There are those in your organisation who are in the employ of others. There are those in your organisation who stand to profit greatly from OAs demise. There are those in your organisation who already have the promise of new employment, (contracts already signed), who are actively supplying all relevent details on request. These people are NOT pilots. The sturdiest of trees fall when the rot is at the middle.

October, all will be revealed my pretties.

Yes I have names, but no, I wont tell. That will wreck the fun when it happens. What has been started cannot be stopped now.

Gawd, I'm salivating.

Hi guys. I see nothing new has happened in my absence. You were right about monies owed to the airline and I fear Strategic is about to learn the same lesson.

Couln't be further from the truth.

He is a well respected and very informed profesional who has lived and worked all over the Pacific most of his life. He has fiends and collegues in very high places in just about every little piece of rock reef or sand in the Pacific If anyone is going to know what is going on he will.

In addition I thought that the R in PPRuNe stood for rumour so who are all of you to say that it's not a rumour.

Digging to stage 3

Not right, N-v knows S--t He just thinks he knows all as he listens to those that don't know everything. This is all very obvious to those in the know from some of the known falsehoods he has passed on. But like MJ, Elvis has left the building

Sorry Feenwit, you've lost me again?? Perhaps you could explain in a private message, so you wont have to make a total ass of yourself in public, yet again.

...a Govt adviser?! Wow, looking back at the rhetoric, sounds like another conman or carpetbagger that preys on the Pacific Nations. A good adviser would`ve been incumbent to current Govt affairs right now and not wasting his time here. You make me laugh!
