SKYAIRWORLD: Management to take "Leave?
s.t.h. you did miss a few points:
e.g. diverting superannuation payments including some employees' salary sacrifice to prop up other parts of the business - from as far back as October 2008 and
recruiting B737 pilots for a contract while laying off other (and in some cases more experienced/better qualified) B737 pilots and
attempting to force people to transfer to Darwin and actually inducing some to commence to transfer, then making them redundant within days and
issuing letters promising a redundancy payment schedule, but failing to meet any part of the payment schedule - knowing that if they go insolvent they can't be made to meet ANY further payments
implying that further money was on the way as a result of a contract already having been signed in Denmark - when it was NOT
LYING, THIEVING, CONNIVING.....

Ahhh yes, and we cant forget the sudden dash to dubai or the first class flights there and return paid for by Sky... (or was that the Super fund?) can we.....
I just hope that the next poor souls applying for Sky come across these threads and that they rethink before making any fast decsions.

No point in anyone applying now. Come the end of this week good chances are they will have to go into some form of voluntary liquidation just to keep the CEO out of the slammer.

Oh I can inform you now, there is no way he will spend one day behind bars, or run into any trouble finding another place to take out a new loan... his credit history still will be left relativly untouched for him.
Funny how they managed to keep the books up there in managment...

Hey Mach, I wouldnt say there were better qualified 737 drivers in the company, unless you are refering to the has-been ex-chief pilot who had been sacked from more operators than he'd like to admit, or the ex-Irish driver who was demoted for unauthorised training, or is there someone else who is more qualified than the two new 737 training captains that you are thinking of?

The ex CP you are referring to has only once been sacked fairly early in his entire career and that was for insubordination, not any lack of performance.
The other guy is not Irish but at the airline he worked for the F/O experience base was so low, every Captain was doing training even if they were not paid to do it.
We seem to be getting off topic now and into the area of personal attacks. The only personal attacks we should be interested in should be aimed at either recovering monies due, or running enough interference to prevent a repeat number being done on others in the future.

At 1130am today,on way home from work, 2 Skyairworld E190s parked in front of old international terminal, one of which was being refuelled(Caltex refueller). Somebody doing what appeared to be a walkround inspection.
12. Somehow managing to keep an RPT going in Cairns with 2 120s' replacing the 145's
The 120's of RPA have never replaced the 145's. The 145 work was CNS-POM (for PX), and CNS-CCY. Both these routes don't exist for SAW now. The contract for CNS-POM ran out 30 Jan, and they stopped the CCY run in Feb.
RPA Brasilias are doing what they have always done.

(Agreed, "replacing" was a bad choice of wording)

Correct, CNS-Bamaga a few times a week, the second Braz is picking up charter work overflow from another company presently busy with filling routes from another failed operator.
Never had anything to do with SAW other than AOC holder. Matter of fact, SAW I think was a minor stakeholder within a conglomerate that bought the AOC.

That was an option that could have been taken up in six or so months. Not going ahead now as far as I know. One a/c belongs to RPA, the other to another group and leased to RPA for the time being. SAW never owned the Brasilias.
I know there are a lot of cheques missing owed to a lot of people/companies out of this mess. Even up this end of the country.
You are right, good for RPA. A big "whew!" and a wipe of the brow.

Both 190's off to portugal tomorrow morning staffed by ex SAW on GECAS contracts apparently,
Don't know if they'll get the new one in time for the perth / Coco's islands contract.
Yes apparently some mob may let them lease another one!!!!

Let us just hope that the maintenance status of the 170 and 190 is better than it was for the two 145s. Those two were supposed to ferry out earlier this week, but found not acceptable for hand-back to the lessor, due to maintenance not done/incorrectly done/not documented or whatever. CASA WHERE ARE YOU? WHERE WERE YOU?
MORE money will now have to go to fixing this little problem, as the lessor will certainly have first call. It is even less likely now that any dollars will be left for former employees to claim.
And yet they are still talking up about $1.8 million bucks for the deposit and first month's lease to get started on another brand new E190 for the DOTARS contract out of Perth. Chuck in a bit of fuel and wages and there goes $2 million before they even carry the first passenger. Maybe they have a plan this time around.
