I spoke to DC on friday about a few things on the phone and there was no mention of any sales or directors going overseas at all. In fact, he was talking about the future and things they want to do,

The facts would indicate that SAW is in trouble. If they are behind in their superannuation payments as stated, then they have breached the law. Unfortunately, usually the ATO finds the company and the employees get nothing. It is an indication of a serious cash flow problem. I also understand that a large percentage of the flight crew have been made redundant this week. Without sufficient flight crews, the aircraft won't achieve a break even utilisation. Two flights a week from Perth to Cocos Island would not achieve anywhere near break even. East Timor has gone very quite. The initial proposed schedule of 7 days pw DRW - DIL - Bali and return, then DRW - Bali 7 nights pw looked a great way to lose a massive amount of money in a very short time.
It sadly looks like the "rose tinted glasses" have gone black, and with the current world financial position, I can't see it improving in the short term.
I truly feel sorry for those people who have returned from overseas, only to find themselves out of work, and with little prospect of getting suitable employment.

So many armchair experts.
can't spaek for SAW but I heard the same thing about Virgin Blue many years ago on this forum. They would NEVER get airborneapparently according to the armchair experts.
Impulse would NEVER get jet aircraft.
Jetstar would fail miserably because no major knew how to run a low-cost.
President Obama need look no further for fiscal expertise.
The oracles of aviation and all things economic can be found right here on PPRUNE.

Thanks for the productive insights boys.

SAW have lost their rights to fly to Bali as a a stipulation on receiving the route required them to be flying by midnight last night.
Jetstar can breath easy.

And yes it's in the public domain.

Al E Vator and Full Noise,

Ok you are right, there are too many armchair experts on this forum,

but the truth is Virg*n,Jetst*r are still flying today,
Impulse`s remnants are still flying today,
and still growing,

S*W is a skeleton standing ready to crash on the ground anytime.

so your argument cant be compared,

people are not critical for anything, but to find what transpired for a good growing company to be in such a mess and destroy careers.
And the millions lost depite the cutting edge master plan.

this forum is for discussing aviation, and fair decent comments can be made so that lessons can be learnt,

remember, present forum members are tomorrows managers/entrepreneurs.

Angry new hangar

An ex employee was told by DJC less then one week ago, that S*W were still due to take delivery of another aircraft in March and still planned to build a new hangar. Although I understand they are late paying there first installment to the builder.
Thats where the redundancy and super have gone B*b M*xw£ll is alive and well and living in Brissy.

New Timor based carrier.

The March delivered 190 will be for Timor Air painted in their beautiful paint scheme, based and registered in AUT, Timor Leste ,first in a fleet,

flying international and regional routes like Bali, WestPapua,Bougainville, Singapore, Macau, Aceh, Solomons,Niugini,Sydney, Brisbane, Goa, etc..

The management staff are the brainy lucky chosen ones after the redundancy in S*W.

Based in DRW and AUT with a brand spanky Corporate complex in DRW,
including a state of the art Embraer/C*sa approved MRO.

They have already started building the hangar and ordered cutting edge
test equipments and tools.

Talks are already going on with regional Embraer operators like Vi*g*n ,Air No**t etc ..to have all their maintenance carried out there at asian rates.

There is also plans to fly Timor,Darwin,Christmas,Cocos,Perth and return.

Finance is coming from the unlimited usual calenders patents royalties.
About AUD $ 500,000 have already been earmarked for setting up in Timor.

ex S*W staff including pilots and engineers should keep an eye on the big recruitment drive coming soon for DRW basing ,on their web site.
As usual, fluency in Portuguese would be an advantage.

yes this time i am on Timorese crude,

all the 190 delivery positions are being honoured,up to december 09

this time, think the future, S*W was yesterday,

Fly Timor Air

Timor Air in its second phase-Dec09 could be flying up to NZ cities,

and if plans work out well, may be to Brazil,Mozambique,Namibia, and Portugal,

its just the 787-10 design has still to be frozen.

Good ideas are always laughed at.

Remember Emir*tes in 1985,and if you are old enough Sing*pore in 1972.

And if you are young enough ,Air Asi* .

Clary, that's because aviation safety is a serious matter.

Mr rup won't be influencing this thread anymore. Nevertheless, a word of advice to everyone else to keep names out of it, lest they face a similar fate.

To get it back on track, some FACTS.

At least some staff super has not been paid since 30 October last year. That payment was for the quarter ended 30 September, so we are looking at 5 months in arrears now.

ALL affected should immediately:

1. check your fund to confirm if what I said above applies to you
2. phone the super hotline on 13 10 20 and lodge an employee report
3. to make it go smoothly for you, have your tax file number, date you started work, your super fund member number and the company ABN which is 35 121 705 646

The operator will give you a receipt number for the investigation.

They acknowledge that it can take up to 12 months to complete their investigation, and if the company goes insolvent meanwhile, it may not be possible to recover your super entitlements. Which means we have probably been done over, because blind Freddy can see what the grand scheme is. Form new company then fold SAW. 'Cept they are not smart enough to realise that the AOC can't just transfer across (last sentence may not be factual as there could be a spivvy way of doing it that I haven't thought of).
