The silence on Qrewroom about his departure is deafening. I imagine guests at his farewell dinner will be assigned via the rostering system.
Without going into details as to why (though I have good reason), I agree with the general sentiment here.

El Perro...A Troll?
You have made some 20 posts in quick succession.
You appear to have an opinion on just about everything.
Most of what you have said has little substance.
Much of what you have said in regard to Qantas is from an outsiders point of view and is either uninformed or misinformed.
Readers Digest is not the definitive source of Aviation information.
Try reading something else to bring yourself up to speed.
BTW El Perro is quite an engaging movie.

The King is dead
I am so surprised that the king will finally be leaving the building.
I always felt he would depart just like the real King.
Fat, old, sweating and taken away in a bag after being found backing one out on the throne in QCC. Perhaps he is not so silly after all.
Such a real shame that a once great union leader could be so easily bought out by Dixon and sell out his fellow pilots.Oldest IR move in the book.
Hope the money was worth it.
The mark of a great leader is the respect and loyalty of his troops. Not sure this will be the view of his tenure.Very sad.

Sorry lambsie, but you are wrong.
The biggest bully in the history of aviation was the Fat Man, and he had a Government in his pocket, along with a very nasty in house security force.
The current targets are not even type qualified on nastiness.
They know about, but have not totally embraced the Dark Side.

The rumour is the DCP will be going back to the line early next year after a suitable bedding in period for the new CP. He will fly the line for a period of time doing all the good trips before he retires as well.

I don't think you know the guy or have any idea of how much work he puts in to help his peers. (if they want it)

Blow.n.gasket,
Obviously you've never met the bloke. Anyone who has knows he's a sharp operator, a good trainer and one of the few guys willing to go the extra mile to help out other crew.
Pull your head in.

DCP
He managed to get the Pope to Darwin in one piece, so someone thinks he's OK.
He is, and will continue to be, on the B744.
On the other hand, I gather CM is retiring all together - I've heard he hasn't been flying at all for quite a while (now on the 767)?
