Isn't the title of the QF CP "Group General Manager Flight Operations and Chief Pilot"?
Now, what does that mean I wonder - is he really the Group General Manager Flight Operations or is he just the General Manager of MAINLINE Flight Operations?
And what is he Chief Pilot of? Surely not the GROUP - because there are many AOCs in the Group. Perhaps he is just MAINLINE General Manager Flight Operations and Chief Pilot.
And isn't QF Group starting a separate training company? This is probably so that all training knowledge and experience within the Group can be directed where GD wants it - eg if JQ wants to train up B787 pilots then all Group resources will be directed at that WITHOUT competition between departments and and WITH proper sharing of resources, knowledge and experience (including HGS, RNP etc) I would assume. Or is it just a way of persuading CASA that JQ is qualified and experienced enough to introduce a new type because it is not them doing it, it is QF Group Training...?

Nunc est bibendum
The GGMFO&CP has been such since before J* came about. The 'group' refers to internal Qantas mainline. It's been confused with the subsequent branding of the 'Qantas Group' to also include J*, QFLink, etc.
Whilst 'QF Group Flight Training' is a marketing name and a cost center code. I don't think there is any aspect of it being truly a 'group flight training' organisation- at least in the context you mean HF3000- occurring for quite some time. There are some examples of this if you talk to the right people but not for this forum.
