A320 jobs in India apparently. And a few in Europe and Asia.

Just try a good company to contract through. I'd suggest a European one. Not a Kiwi one.... Heard too many not so good things about them ( Rishworth )

Movement

there's some more huge movement from my view point - A friend of mine just left Rex for Jetstar...

I also know up to 3 Skytrans pilots going to rex...

A couple of years ago, Skytrans Multi minimum was about 300. It's now about 100 or 150....

Very exciting times.

What's going to happen to piston operations...

The ones that realise the importance of pilots will get crews. The others will die off one by one.

Not quite correct. They still require 300 hours multi minimum but only 150 hours of that must be in command. This is straight from their web sight.

• Total time: 1500 hours
• Multi-engine time: 300 hours
• Command Multi-engine time: 150 hours
• Night time: 50 hours
• At least 2 instrument renewals

The AFAP website looking good once again.

I can't remember a time when the Flyin' Docs advertised for pilots?

A Meeting With Dixon

Expect a" no union, no pilot management"meeting between Dixon and QF pilots soon.
Apparently he wants to talk about a pilot shortage.

A "no union" meeting gets him about a dozen!
I think he will need to rethink his 3 year payfreeze [but we will take the efficiencies!]
Then again he may be out of a job himself!

I wouldn't sit in the same room as that individual...
Is he finally starting to realise he is on the wrong track, or simply changing tact on his ridiculous unsustainable rant?? Put simply noonne other than a handful of believers care what he thinks. People have been telling him for ages there was a shortage coming, he was too arrogant to listen and now better strap on your wings Geoff and take a few lessons coz we ain't listening! Maybe time to get rid of oldmeadow and start understanding a thing called demographics Geoff!

Thanks too Kevin Brown for your massive support of the staff. Returning staff travel fares to levels other companies have been charging for at least the last year, but holding onto a fuel surcharge....tool

Some Value...

I would turn up just for the gloat value.
If the meeting does happen...Dixon is either very brave or very very stupid

he is dreaming...
For the last five years all he has done is threaten people's livelihoods, destroy morale and continue to line his own pockets.
I'm sorry Geoff but unless I am seriously misreading my colleagues it is going to take a lot more than a meeting...
We had one of those with the J* MOU, remember??
And look where we are now.

It's too little way too late and the shortage is coming...........

oh Mulder GD has problems with pilots across the group...Rumour has it there are defections from the bastard child of a number to cause even GD indigestion....
As for hard men there are plenty of us who have done other things, am able to say that I won't be there....
I am a current QF mainline pilot who has had a professional (non aviation) career outside QF. Maybe hard maybe not, but flying the lines I fly there is a great deal of mistrust out there.......

Stick with it son, even in Brisbane eventually you will find that the truth is out there many mainline pilots don't care a toss for GD and whatever he wants to say....Perhaps there are some of the northern mafia who will wilt, but many won't. GD told one lie too many.

As far as I am concerned, until AWA's are enforced and collective bargaining sidelined, I am happy I have AIPA to say all WE need to say..........

Agreed Jetsbest.

How many QF pilots does Mulder speak for?

I seriously reckon about 10 to 20 - Maximum

Thats not to say that the other 2480 love everything AIPA does, but on the opinion of the CEO (and the CP too) the unity is obvious.

So less than a dozen blokes have left QF mainline and you blokes think Dixon is worried. You're not all serious, are you?

There will never be a shortage in QF because DE Capt's and FO's will commence sooner rather than later.

The sooner you realise that the big mouths out there are all piss and wind and will cave in at the first sign of trouble, the sooner you are to realising that Dixon is not worried. I suspect the only thing that worries him is that one day he happens to be a passenger on a jet flown by one of the ARG loonies. Now that would be a worry!

It has been said before, there are at least a thousand returnees in QF sans 89. They just haven't been given the chance.

Sans 89? Without 89? Who is the loony here?

The radicalisation of the QF pilot force would be complete if they ever attempted that Mulder. You forget that each crew needs an FO. You give that FO nothing to lose and you see what happens.

It's happening already. Who was the Fleet manager a few weeks ago who thought there was an industrial directive out about not extending? It had nothing to do with AIPA. The boys are starting to take things into their own hands.
