A good point raised there Hottie and I wish to "second the motion".

It's been around in many forms over the years, providing the vehicle of experience so many of us have looked back/drawn from, since cutting our teeth there.

Happy Landings

Sure is great news for all those being trained, especially the positions being allocated in order of seniority. Did the ex CASA FOI who is or maybe was the Brasilia Fleet Manager get a slot?

Thumbs up going to bali

It now seems they have a clear run to Bali, in thier jet, according to this article in the NT news.

http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/200...94_ntnews.html

As a former employee its great to see this company moving ahead. Lets not forget its privately and Australian owned...well done.

Unpopular timing though it may be, a couple of runs in the middle of night to Bali would be a great run for Airnorth. The existing single aircraft is all that's needed, it would meet with all of the domestic red-eye services (at least in one direction), and NT travellers are already in the habit of using their airport at night. Sounds like good sense to me.

Understand CEO has advised the pilot group that the second aircraft will be due in Aug 2008, unless a earlier slot can be bought. Ideal career path for pilots now, in through the Bandit or Metro, then onto Bras and then the jet. It would seem commands will be available on the Metro and Bras fairly quickly.

Just wondering if someone could let us know what the conditions are like, flying the Bandit out of Kunnunurra.

Air North will commence Embraer 170 operations on Monday 27th August 2007 on DRW-KNX-BME services.

The E170 will operate TL332 (DRW-KNX-BME) and TL333 (BME-KNX-DRW) MON/TUE/WED/THU/FRI. SAT will see an E170 flight also, although this won't extend onto BME (see below as to where it will fly). There's no E170 flight on Sundays, but there will still be 2 EM2 services (as per normal).

Air North will also launch a new DRW-KNX-PER service every SAT commencing 01SEP:

TL340 DRW-KNX 07.45/07.15
TL340 KNX-PER 07.45/11.15
TL341 PER-KNX 12.00/15.05
TL341 KNX-DRW 15.35/18.05

This flight is not yet available for sale on Air North's website...

Virgin Blue should also be announcing where it intends to fly its new EMB170s within the next few weeks. VH-ZHA is due to arrive in Australia around the 12th of September according to a post on Airliners.net.

Doubt it, Paul.

Airnorth would be a very lonely place if everyone who had told Roger to stick it was excluded.

Heard the 170 coming out of Dili today on HF. Was this another proving flight or have being granted their high capacity AOC? I notice on their web site that it is scheduled to commence ops on Broome from tomorrow.

If they have gained their AOC, it cetainly was a bad effort in around six months. Certainly also proves the knockers wrong

A little early to be gloating just yet Topend, maybe in 12 months when loads are consistently good and a/c not being re-posessed.
