Airnorth to go jet
 

I believe Airnorth are to acquire an Embraer 170 or similar to service the McArthur River contract from '07.

With "miffy" running the show, they shouldn't have any problems. They might even steal GV off NJS...

I heard that they were looking at a Dash 8-400, seems like a better option to me. Just a rumour, though. Also recruited with a very experienced ex NJS Cheif Pilot to assist with transition to bigger types, unfortunately he is laid up after a car accident, so things are happening for them which is good.:)

That would explain the number of get well soon cards on his bedside table.

Craven, I heard the Q400 was all but a sealed deal before the 170 came into the picture. Dunno if it would be better for mac river though. There are a number of other lucrative minning contracts in the top-end that are perfect distances for the jet. I'd suggest anything over an hour in the jet would sell it.

Apparently the Air North CEO announced the E170 jet acquisition at the Airports Association Conference in CNS last week. So it's more than rumour.

XR are doing just fine at the moment thanks and i wish air north a jet future as well .

perhaps the bitter twisted cynical lot can hire a phone box and talk to each other and confirm their life's philosophies !!!!!
