Does it mean all training will take place locally in WA/Perth only, so no flying to a Melbourne or NZ?

Looks like it, with possible training in Perth as well.

In total it was about 1 week between AC and XREF, then just over 1 month from submitting references to getting the phone call.

Hey mate, got the phone call last week that I'm doing En-route starting March/April. I'll have to go through medical and security as well even though I already have an ASIC and Class 2 medical. Still need to transfer everything over to the Airservices side of things. Just renewed my ASIC last month as well 😭

Hey can anyone please shed some light on what the coded reasoning test is like from Round 1? Thank you !

emilynws 21st November 2025 02:18

I got an e-mail stating I'm through to the next round! Interesting how the Interrupt Test isn't mentioned, just a phone screening

Good luck to everybody else, I hope to hear from you all soon

Just got the rejection email. Pretty sad after all that effort, but I guess I'll apply again in 12 months :(

How'd everyone else do?

Got an update email from ASA this afternoon, I didn’t make it through the testing phase, so that’s it for me. Was a fun experience albeit short. Did anyone else have any updates?

I got this email as well. It makes no mention of the interrupt test either. Seems like they're scrapping it now.

Lucky you for not having to wait 6+ months haha.

Lucky enough to join you. I am quietly optimistic and doing some Oprah manifesting.

If it is any consolation I had applied multiple times before making it through the testing this time around. I always felt like I did well and It was seriously very disheartening. This last time I set a calendar reminder for exactly 12 months and applied again almost to the day. Hopefully it is a better outcome next time, as someone who has got the rejection email before my only advice is to not let it get you down because it ultimately serves no purpose for you.

Similar situation here - I was confident I failed radar sim last time and told myself if I applied again I'm sure I'd know how to handle it better, set a calendar reminder for 12 months later and here we are

chanteur 22nd November 2025 06:04

I also received the phone screening email yesterday. Good luck all!

UltramarathonerATC 29th November 2025 08:42

Just did the first two online assessments - detail accuracy and coded reasoning. Could not finish all the questions in time but they were heaps fun. Bit easier than expected.

Do we only get invited to the next four assessments if we score high enough on the first two?

I do not have an answer but based on my experience you will know pretty soon for the next stage if invited. The next stage invitation normally comes in a day or two after the deadline of your previous round.

Nivmiz78 2nd December 2025 01:52

Hi all, new poster having just found this forum. I'm part of Cohort 16 and just received an email saying that I have progressed to the next stage which will be a phone screen call. Is this essentially a phone interview or something different?

Hi Chanteur, thank you for confirming that!

Just got an email saying I’ve progressed - within a day of the previous round’s due date.

Thought I would also share my timeline so that I can contribute and not just ask questions :)

xave 5th December 2025 04:59

Hi everyone, I decided to apply to Airservices about a month ago to see if I had what it takes and have just passed the first part of the 3 part testing in stage 1.

Could someone who has successfully gone through this process give me some information on what is to come? I have had a long read through this whole thread and to my understanding there are 3 parts to the first stage of the whole process, the first I have done, the second is four tests which I received an email about today to complete. What is the third? I understand there is a video submission you have to make etc so just want to know how this all falls into place.

I probably don't need to worry about any of this and just focus on passing part 2 but I'm too interested lol

Does anyone know how many people / percentage of people actually pass each stage? How many people are they filtering out throughout the whole process? Would love to know my chances.

Also does anyone have any information on what the tests are like for stage 2? Would practicing that kind of material between now and the deadline for the test be beneficial? You would have to think so.

Fingers crossed I can keep progression through. TIA!

Nivmiz78 5th December 2025 09:09

Hi Xave, I can give a little info, but it's hard to remember everything. For stage two what they really test is your ability to multi-task. So you'll do things like pick true or false on if an image on the screen meets certain criteria. You'll also do a radar test where you have to stop planes from crashing into each other while also solving math problems. I'm not sure if there is a way to practice beforehand, but before each test there are practice questions which you can do as many times as you want before you begin, that's what I did to help me for each test.

As for your other information I can't answer it, I have no idea on the statistics for filtering.

xave 6th December 2025 06:02

Thanks for that. Did you make it through everything? If so, what stage in the training / whole career are you?

departuresgday 10th December 2025 21:40

Hey all, I've got a few more days before I can re-apply. I made it through to the interrupt test last year, but barely missed the passing mark. It sounds like the interrupt test is gone now, are they just using the SureSelect tests now before going to phone screening and assessment centre?

Yeah so far no mention of the Interrupt Test, but it could also be held at the Assessment Centre day

Sounds like they have gone from half to full day so that seems probable.

Assessment Centre

Hi everyone, new to this forum. I'm due for an assessment centre session soon. Could anyone shed any light on what the group and single tests are like? Any information that would help with mental prep would be much appreciated!

Sorry, I don't, but I wanted to ask if you've already had your screening call?

yu67ji 14th December 2025 22:19

I have. The caller was very friendly and the atmosphere of the call was very relaxed; infact it was so relaxed I didn't even know it was the screening call at the time. I only found out about the screening call a few days ago from this forum, at which point I had already done mine.

yu67ji 16th December 2025 07:15

Is there a difference in difficulty between the different assessment centers?

Hey mate, as many others have said AsA doesn't really want you to prepare for the assessment day. If anything there's a chance it could negatively effect your performance if you have an expectation of something and it's not exactly how you planned. Generally the tests and sims aren't too disimilar to what you've already done online.

Go in with an open and relaxed mindset and you should be sweet. There's plenty of break times in between the sessions so you get time to reset and get ready for the next one. Each person will have their own schedule and order of what they do on the day so you know what is up next.

yu67ji 16th December 2025 20:02

Might sound like a wierd question, but are the tests still purely tests of mental capability? What I'm trying to ask is if there are any new machines/equipment that you need to quickly learn to use in order to complete the tests?

Nah everything is done on a comupter, the only time you are actually using a computer is to do a couple tests that you would have already done online. Just to make sure you were the one who did them. Otherwise for anything else the assessor runs the computer/sim to test your mental ability. You get practice runs like the online testing to get you familiar.

Hey Guys,

Looking to apply for my 2nd attempt - but noticed at the moment they only have a job advert for WA Tower postings. Does this mean Bris/Melb are saturated? or do they just advertise in waves fordifferent postings at different times?

Happy NY to all!

I'm guessing the normal application window ended in Dec '25 and they've only just returned back to office today so most likely they'll repost it in a week or two.

Hey all!

Is there anyone here who has received an offer to start sometime in March 2026? Just thought I'd reach out to my future course mates and get in touch.

And just to check, have you heard anything from ASA regarding the actual start date or have you received an official written offer yet?

Let me know.

Cheers.

Hey mate, I'm doing en-route starting around March/April. And yep still waiting on a confirmation, on my phone call they did say in Jan they will know an official start date. I'm going to give them until end of next week until I reach out haha. Would assume that they're only back this week after holidays.

Nivmiz78 7th January 2026 11:19

Yeah I'm waiting for the phone call to schedule my assessment day, was hoping to hear something this week but after the holidays you never know.

I have a private message request but it says it's restricted - does anyone know a fix for this?

I believe you need three posts before you can see private messages.

o.ly.viateee 15th January 2026 02:49

In that case is anyone else going to the assessment centre on the 19th? Looking for someone to share a taxi ride to and back from the facilities.

I don't have my assessment scheduled yet, but do you happen to know what cohort you're in?
