There isn't really anything you can do for FEAST and DART - don't be tempted to pay for phone apps etc. The best advice I can give is read the instructions carefully and don't start the tests themselves until you're happy that you understand the instructions.
As for Stage 3, on the day you’re specifically told not to share any info on social media otherwise you’ll be in trouble. So all I can really do is share the prep I did. I had two real interviews for other roles in my current field, one of which I had no intention of taking at all regardless of the outcome, in order to get me back into the swing of things as I knew my interview skills would be rusty. I also asked my poor boyfriend to interview me a couple of times too! I visited my local airport with FISOs rather than ATCOs (so not a NATS airport), the set up is paired back but still useful. I learnt the material we needed to learn by creating flash cards as I know they work for me. My approach has always been, if you think you’re prepared enough, keep preparing. It works for me and gives me confidence but honestly everyone is different so it’s about doing what will keep you at your best. |
I'm booked in for Stage 2 at CTC on the 22nd Oct. Anyone else? :) Very nervous, been wanting this since I was about 5...
|
I was accepted through to Stage 3 having just sat the Stage 2 computer tests today (Friday 12th October). Five out of twelve in our group went through to the DART test in the afternoon. Did anyone else from today get through?

Hi guys, any of you who have recently done the stage 2 testing, I would really like to hear from! Just a few questions. Shoot me an email at [email protected]
Thanks! |
Thanks for your answers Trevor Hannant and Lemonair! ;)
Hopefully I will do well in stage 2 and get through to stage 3! Fingers crossed! |

Congratulations :) I was sat next to you and I've been accepted to stage 3 as well! Do you know when you're aiming to do stage 3? At the moment I don't have any options for dates so I suppose we'll just have to wait for more to be added.

Hi all,
Can anyone who has got through to the end stage 2 recently advise me on what time the day finished? I know it says 5pm on the invite but from what I've read it is usually quite a bit before then. Just looking at booking trains to the airport/ flight home (I've assume 5pm finish but that leaves me with a lot of running to do!). |

Congratulations to you too! I have booked stage 3 for November 1st. I'm sure more dates will be released soon. I am eager to get it over and done with so I could start in January/February. How about you?
**might be easier if you pm me your email? |

We finished the day by 3.30pm. I was on a train at 4.30pm from Swanwick. It does depend on how quickly the others in the group finish the tests though. Both in the morning and the afternoon you have to wait til everyone finishes the computer tests. If I had taken my time more I could have added maybe 30 mins to the day, for example. Hope that helps

I know this thread is about the interview process but just wondered if anyone has any suggestions on best places to live whilst at the college? Been trawling online and not a fan of places in Whiteley/Fareham so far. Seen quite a few nice places in Portsmouth - is this close enough or will traffic be an issue? I've heard bad things about the M27??? I live in a small-ish city just now and traffic has never been a big issue for me, so don't want to find myself sat in traffic for hours per week!
I live in suburbs of Southampton - my personal experience is that the M27 can be pretty hellish, I tend to avoid it where possible anywhere around rush hour. It can sometimes be slow around rush hours but if there's an accident (which happens too regularly for my liking) then you can be a bit stuck. Depends whether you want to deal with that, otherwise I'd suggest looking closer to CTC or even Burseldon / Swanick direction. I personally wouldnt want to commute from central Portsmouth if i had the option of somewhere closer but it's your choice! The hours currently at college are 8-4 so that will help a little with the traffic. |
Anyone else from yesterday's (15th of oct) stage 2 get their email yet? I passed, so now I get to join the wait for stage 3 spots to open :)

Booked my stage 3 for November 19th (No email from NATS saying they had availability so if you're waiting for a slot keep refreshing that link, I just checked on the off chance they'd have something). Good luck to everyone with whatever stage you're on currently and let me know if I'll see you there :)

Hi all. I've got my Stage 2 on Monday (22nd October). I was originally not hopeful but after reading about it (here and elsewhere) I think I'll be disappointed if I don't get through to at least take the DART in the afternoon. Anything can happen from there, I guess. See some of you on Monday!
|
Hi guys ;)
I'm new here. Well, I joined a few years ago but haven't been active for a while. First of all, congratulations to all of you who passed any of the stages. I passed Stage 2 about a month ago and a few days ago booked Stage 3 at Prestwick on 6th December. Is anyone going there? |
Hi all,
Just a quick question regarding the dress code for Stage Two. In the email it just says 'Smart', I know there are a few posts about it in the thread already a while back but it would be helpful to hear from someone who has been recently. Does this mean full suit? Honestly, I don't even own a suit! Or where there people with just smart shirts, trousers etc. I can understand the suit for an interview style assessment day, but I can't imagine it's going to help while sitting at a computer taking tests. Thanks for any input! |
Live as close as feasible and ideally use a bike/scooter/moped....getting into and out of Whiteley in college hours is abominable. Get through college and then think about where you’d prefer to live...shifts make the commute much easier. |
Trousers and shirt are 'smart' - throw a tie in for good measure.
Same for the interview - I turned up in a jacket and put it down in the chillout area and didn't pick it up again til I left. The m27 is brutal at peak times, as is the road into Whiteley, live as close as possible for the training, I know the area well and that is my intention. |
For those who've had their Stage 3, was the technical side of it all contained in the document or did they ask stuff around it, about NATS (history etc)? Before I go any further overkill on my prep... :p
Anyone else here attending Prestwick on 6th November? |

I was with you at the 2nd assessment, and I too passed! I'm the short blonde Finnish girl :) I've booked my 3rd assessment for mid November. Good luck with the interviews and hope to see you again!

Hi Trevor, Hannah and Hulina! I was also at your stage 2 and also passed DART! I've got my stage 3 booked for the 24th October as well! I hope to see the rest of you soon when you get through ;)
Wes, good luck tomorrow - drop me a PM and let me know how it goes! Lina - take it you're going back to Swanwick for yours? |
For stage 3 do i need to take anything with me? Certificates, GCSE's, out of school qualifications etc?
|
Hello all,
I have my Stage 2 tomorrow at CTC and am driving down tonight... Just wondered if anyone else out there was doing Stage 2 tomorrow? Well done to all of you who have made it through so far! |
Stage 3
So I did my stage 3 today. Apparently if you are successful they call you the next day.
You don't need any certificates or anything for stage 3, just driving license/passport. Anyone heard back yet about their stage 3? |

Anyone with a stage 3 coming up, when/did you get an email specifying a time slot other than 8am? The confirmation I got when I booked around a month ago had a table of dates that only went until August and on the brassring link the location is just 'hedge end, hampshire'. I'm going on the 19th so PM me if you'll be there too :)
|
TTTom - clear your inbox and I'll be able to reply :)

So it isn’t necessarily always the next day as I was successful and heard back the following week. Hope you hear back soon though! Good Luck :) |
Hey everyone. So finally I have been given a start date! I thought I'd share my timeline for those applying! But first a quick question:
How long does the security clearance take? I'm referring to the one that is conducted by UKSV NSVS? After submitting the form, do they engage in follow-up questions? Does this extend the process? So here's my timeline!! Day 1: Apply to NATS as an ATC, Pass Stage 0, Invitation to Stage 1 Day 4: Pass Stage 1 Day 6: Invitation to Stage 2, Booked onto Stage 2 Day 22: Stage 2 Assessment (in CTC) Day 27: Confirmation of passing Stage 2 Assessment Day 28: Invitation to Stage 3 Assessment Day 33: Booked onto Stage 3 Assessment Day 39: Stage 3 Assessment Day 74: Confirmation of passing Stage 3 Assessment Day 79: Offered Medical Appointment Day 172: Initiation of Security Vetting Day 194: Confirmation of Start Date Day 256: Medical Appointment Day 297: Start Date!!! Phew! So overall, took 9 months, 3 weeks, 2 days!!! Good luck everyone! Oh, and if anyone could answer my question, that would be fantastic! GreenATC |

Hi Everyone,
Just looking for some advise. I unfortunately had to reschedule my September stage 2 date and now attending on 12th November. I am stopping with family in Tadley the night before and planned on driving to Swanwick however I've heard the parking situation is awful! Could someone advise how true this is? I've looked at the possibility of getting the train from Basingstoke but it just seems such a faff having the change trains and then taxi to the centre. I was thinking about renting a driveway, I've done this in the past and seems to work well, has anyone done anything similar? I also read somewhere about taking drinks in with you, do they have to be in a sports bottle or something like that? can't remember quite what I read as it was a while back! Thanks! |

Which course are you joining? I'm behind you in the process I'm afraid, haven't received my initial security forms yet! But have my medical at the end of the month. :D
I'll be going to Jerez in February :) I know they have a course at CTC in Jan, Jerez in Feb, Gloucester in March and another at CTC in April. I'm sure there are plenty more, they seem to be on a big recruitment drive. |

Good luck with the medical. Haven't actually had mine yet either but it's booked! So excited to start but the security process is taking a while!

What counts as an established posting history? Also, is skytest.com down/banned?
