SAME RR8 AND collapsed

Waiting .........an invitation to Stage 2

Freddles 1st June 2015 10:15

Well I'm heading down tomorrow for the long awaited stage 3, and my laptop decided to pick this exact moment to crash and refuse to work and the guy I've given it to says my hard drive might be dead so I would have lost all of my interview preparation stuff.
So now I'm a bit worried haha.

Megamc 2nd June 2015 18:44

SMS576 Lost Internet connection

Hi SMS576,

What happened to your problem?
Have you been able to resume your examination?
What did they say?

manusa 3rd June 2015 19:47

How did it go Freddles?

eyesickle1 9th June 2015 11:25

Has anyone who has taken stage 3 heard back from them yet? Got mine in a couple of days! Nervous but only as prepared as I can be so shall see what happens. Good luck to everyone else!

Not expecting to hear from them for a few weeks...

eyesickle1 9th June 2015 16:55

I hope this isn't too intrusive of a question as I'm sure there are others here who haven't completed stage 3 yet...

During the stage 3 interview, was any knowledge of ATC required AT ALL? I'm prepared for the main bulk of stuff giving life examples and situations and such but I would be coming into this profession completely blind and wondered if any knowledge was required to answer any questions?

I can understand if no one wants to say anything incase it gives an advantage but I figured it would hardly give me an advantage with a day to go as I can't learn that much in that space of time! Thanks for any insight.

Those waiting for stage 2..

I had an email today regarding stage 2 dates. It said that they would be releasing dates soon for stage 2 and that they will be held in June, July and August, and to email back only if you have changed your mind due to the long wait.

Eek! Not long now!!

Megamc 11th June 2015 23:08

WelshPride1989 12th June 2015 07:22

Correction to my last post - July, August and September are the months that the interviews will be held.

Excitement caused some confusion :(

Megamc 16th June 2015 09:51

stage 2

mmmm ????
Only three go to stage 2 ¿?¿?¿? :E

any news?

conc1845 16th June 2015 19:00

No, Megamc. I received the same email and certainly didn't reply. Passed through to this stage in August last year...probably completing on a house next Friday. I'll hopefully become a landlord in a few years since I'm not holding my breath or a speedy move between Stages 2 & 3 (should I get through obviously).

Megamc 16th June 2015 19:10

So if I understand it correctly, you will not go, then by now we are: Manicpeanut, WelshPride1989 and I..... (summing :ugh: ......3

Hanima 16th June 2015 22:13

I got my email too, so it makes four of us :) Even though I only completed the online assessments 3 weeks ago. Hopefully, it will move fast, I'm so excited!

Btw, I do believe conc1845 is planning on attending stage 2, since he said he didn't reply to their email.

RobertSaturn 17th June 2015 07:41

I'm going too!

''Hanima'', you're a really lucky one, I've past my tests last year in March, so I've been waiting for more than an year!!!
Anyway ''manusa'' you have to think there are other people outside this forum who's waiting for their chances, not everyone who's waiting has logged in on this site.
Never mind, at last will get there in the end!

RobertSaturn 17th June 2015 08:04

Sorry, the 2nd part was for ''Megamc''

About how many will attend Stage 2 - you have to consider that there are many people outside this forum who are waiting for their chance.

RobertSaturn 17th June 2015 10:23

Got my invitation to book Stage 2!!!

Me again! Just got an email from Kirsty regarding the booking for Stage 2 through July, August & September.

Hi there!

Yes exactly the same. It says below just to keep checking back :) Glad I'm not the only one ;)!

Best of luck!

EDIT: I tried to book on at 1400 today and it said the same thing.

Megamc 17th June 2015 18:11

buuuuaaaaaaa :uhoh:

I want to book now!!!!!!

Well, is there someone from spain?

Hanima 17th June 2015 18:19

With a 1-2 year waiting period, there's probably a lot of people trying to lock into one of these dates. I got July 21st, anyone else? :)

I think I remember reading on the NATS website that stage 2 started with a written test. You had to study some material in advance, but now I can't find that reference. Can anyone confirm this?

Hanima 17th June 2015 18:28

Btw, Megamc, I'm from Portugal. I actually looked into an ATC program in Spain before I found out about NATS (FerroNATS, I believe) :)

Freddles 17th June 2015 18:31

Regarding Stage 3 again.

Has anybody heard back from their interviews? It's been around 2 weeks now and I'm getting a bit restless haha.

manusa 17th June 2015 18:55

That was some fast booking for Stage 2!

Not yet. But, after waiting a year and a half for Stage 3, a few weeks don't seem like that much

conc1845 17th June 2015 19:26

I thought I was clear enough...this does not bode well for my communication skills! But yes, I'll be booking when they become available. I checked at 1900 today and the same "No date" message was displayed then too.

dendrobate 17th June 2015 19:56

Hey first time posting on this.
I applied about 3-4 weeks ago. Booked my date about 15 minutes after getting the email through today, worked aboslutely fine for me even did it on my phone :/

Although as soon as I had booked it I got an email informing me the time was incorrect and it was in fact 8 am not 9 am.

dendrobate 17th June 2015 20:16

I'm going 24 August

WelshPride1989 17th June 2015 22:21

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think we have to study anything before stage 2 anymore. I have been reading previous discussions on this thread too (such as documents being sent to applicants) and nothing like this is mentioned in the email, so I am assuming it has been removed (or moved to stage 3?)

Weird about all dates being filled, btw. I also had no trouble booking 7th August. Hope you guys are able to book soon!

Just mentioned feast and dart, which are cognitive tests really.

KeyHolder 18th June 2015 07:57

Apologies if i'm doing this wrong, 1st post.

I got my stage 2 invitation email yesterday, clicked on the date and with a bit of hesitation (about 3mins) I decided to go for the 6th July, clicked confirm and the whole of July was fully booked. People obviously didn't mess about after receiving the email. Fortunately I managed to get booked in for the 3rd August :ok:

If anyone has any information regarding the Stage 2 that I can revise, it would be greatly appreciated

RobertSaturn 18th June 2015 08:41

Anyone have heard of FEAST TEST TRAINING!!!

I was checking online for some tests and found this, is available in App Store & Google Play Store.
Anyone in here has tried it, is it worth? The price on App Store is £27.99. I'm just wondering if it's similar to what we'll have to do???

Hanima 18th June 2015 12:13

RobertSaturn, I did some digging as well to see what I could use to practice for the stage 2 tests. I found out about that app (and a few more like it), but I don't think I'll be buying anything. From what I've read in forums, FEAST is designed to test your skills, rather than your preparation. I'd guess it's a bit like the online assessments, preparation doesn't matter nearly as much as being able to think quickly and clearly. That's why I don't think the investment is worth it.

However, I've been checking out some nice tools to get acquainted with the brain exercises/ATC stuff. There's a few that I've found to be interesting:

Airport Madness - multitasking, awareness

Lumosity - full of little games to test speed, attention, memory, etc. Some contents used to be free, I believe, now after an initial test you have to pay a subscription fee (about 7€ a month)

And, of course, the NATS games ;)

Btw, what do you think would be a nice score on those NATS games? I struggle with some more than others. In particular, what do you think would be a good score for the sequential memory and reactive avoidance tests?

sambatc 18th June 2015 18:51

I'd be surprised if anyone has been stupid enough to pay that much to find out

Kimmikins 19th June 2015 09:26

Some have had to play them. A lot. :bored:

Crazy Voyager 19th June 2015 09:54

I thought Strip Display management as it was then was quite fun at the time. Not sure what I'd think now though.

I used lumosity, it was quite good to pass the time but probably did little to improve or change my scores to the nats tests.

I also played a lot of tetris (Free Tetris | Tetris Friends Online Games I think I used) which was a similar thing, a good way to pass the time but probably did nothing to imrpove my scores.

RobertSaturn 19th June 2015 14:39

Hi, Hanima!

I think you're right, everything is about reaction in this tests and brain as well!

About the NATS games, they are ok, with the cards game I can't go past tthe level with 5cards, that starts to be difficult to me; the other is ok, I managed close to 4000.

But never mind, everything in the test will be new, never heard or played, so indeed is all about us!

I'm going on 3rd August - GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE!!!
