Good to know, I might give it a go then, but when I asked them they said the new policy applied for everyone regardless the date you last applied... Bit confusing.
Good luck anyway!

AkwGon 20th November 2013 15:55

hey guys, has anyone heard anything yet about stage two assessment date??

Gonçalo

Joe-5-0 20th November 2013 23:30

Hi guys. I'm starting my application for ATCO training tonight and I'm a little confused as I can't find the application form!

Im on a page which has options to fill in your work experience and education so I've done this and added a cover letter. I also have the option of adding a CV. If this is what I'm supposed to do then that's fine, but I was expecting something a little different.

I'm assuming every applicant at least gets the chance to take the initial online assessments so I was under the impression that things like CVs and cover letters wouldn't be necessary, and I would just have to fill in an online form to make sure I meet the requirements.

This is what I can see when i log into the careers section:

Of course I'm probably completely wrong about this and just overthinking it, but I just want to be sure that I'm doing this right!

Thanks
Joe

Hi no I haven't heard anything re stage two am still waiting :(

Jof_1999 22nd November 2013 06:28

Joe,

If you search listings and click on trainee air traffic control it will take you to the right page.

From there you fill in your CV on the Nats forms. You cannot email one you have compiled already. It takes a littlectime but it is the only way they will accept your application.

Good luck,

Jof

Joe-5-0 22nd November 2013 10:12

Ah, thanks Jof. For some reason I assumed that section was for specific job vacancies.

Dottiehottie 25th November 2013 21:00

Hey guys, I too joined the long aching wait to Stage 2. I'll post here if I get any news/invite. Till then, good luck to you all!

Saras 26th November 2013 10:43

Rookie here... :)

Alright, new one here joining in this conversation.

Just did my Stage 0 online test, waiting to find out how it went. Worst for me was the verbal, ended up in trouble with the time allowed and just guessed the last one before time ended. Numerical and error was able to finish them all, am quite confident especially with the error checking.

Any ideas what's the passing limit with these updated tests??
Hopefully we'll get a proper conversation going in here with these new and updated tests...what in what Stage now compared to the old ones.

Not looking for the answers though, don't get me wrong, just wanting to hear how people have experienced those tests.

Good luck all of you, anyone here who's currently in college?? Would love to hear from your experiences? :)

EDIT: Took off the question about how long it takes to get the info after Stage 0...for me it took roughly 1 hour. :) And I'm through to Stage 1, yaayy.
Now of to do some prep for those diagrammatical and spatial reasoning ones which will be next in line.

OmarDays 29th November 2013 22:11

Still waiting for the assessment date that was due in september! I was so psyched up through-out september but so long has passed I'm kind of deflated now.

Saras 4th December 2013 15:29

Stage 2

Apparently they haven't scheduled any Stage 2 dates in a while. I'm also joining in to wait for the dates. I don't even wanna think about how many people are now "lining up"...

All we can do is wait...

JroW 5th December 2013 14:05

Just adding my 2 pence worth. Also in the same boat as most as i have completed both stage 0 and 1 online assessments some time ago now. What do people think the chances are that there aren't currently enough of us on the waiting list for the assessment days? And before I get boo'd out of the forum my thinking is this - they have recently changed the re-application time from 12 to 24 months so all those who thought they could try again, and obviously capable of getting over the first 2 hurdles, aren't in the pool. Don't know but it would be interesting to know what percentage of applicants have had more than 1 try previously, and looking at the ATC application process PDF normally about 1700 go for stage 2 assessments. Seems a lot.

Still, suppose it gives us ages to prep for it.

Angels-One-Five 5th December 2013 14:25

I suspect it's more to do with company need.

The EU are forcing cost cutting, there is a surplus of current ATCOs, some contracts are due for renewed and may be under threat and the head count at the college is being scaled back.

Not to mention the recent VR programme across the regulated side of the company.

JroW 5th December 2013 15:42

True.
I remember reading somewhere that with current cuts and ATC turnover they probably wouldn't need any validated ATCs untill 2017. Meaning early to mid 2014 to start training, which doesn't seem remotely likely right now. I'm sure that when it does happen though it will be a case of blink and you miss it.

AkwGon 6th December 2013 12:00

Hey there,

I sent an email back in September asking about the dates of stage 2, and the answer i get was this :

"Hi Goncalo

Thank you for your email

We are currently not holding any Stage 2 Assessment centres until September 2014. Once we are in a position to release new dates we will send an invitation to all candidates currently waiting to take the assessment.

Kind regards

Kirsty

NATS"

So it means that we are going to wait a while longer...

Dottiehottie 7th December 2013 10:30

Well, I guess, see you in 10 month then, at best..

tobster911 2nd January 2014 17:56

So, I applied for the position of TATC yesterday, and received an email with a link for the 1st of 2 online assessments, and completed it this morning. Does anyone know how long it will be before the 2nd online assessment link comes through? Or is it a case of, it should be immediate, so you haven't got through?

Thank you

And, September '14? That seems like a hellishly long wait for just an assessment, does it not?

Thank you

T

eyesickle1 7th January 2014 15:38

I received my e-mail today inviting me to a Stage 2 Assessment. Gives details about the format of the day, and a link to book a date. All the dates are in January, starting a week from today (7th). About 7 dates in total I think. Comes with a 24 page document that needs to be revised (They stress this a lot). Hope other people have got an e-mail!

bobfairclough 7th January 2014 16:10

I too received an email this morning.
I start a new job on Monday so can't make any of the dates. I will have to wit until they release more.

Dottiehottie 7th January 2014 17:14

This is very good news people.

@eye - Are there dates only in January? What happens if you can't make it at the available dates? Anyone knows?

mangoPL 7th January 2014 17:15

Hello everyone
Yesterday I've done my Stage 1 assessment and today I've received an email with invitation to attend the stage 2 Computer Tests.
In fact, I won't attend this stage because I've already passed FEAST and DART last year, so hopely see you soon in stage 3!
Like the preeceding speaker I hope other people already has got an assessment date :)

OmarDays 7th January 2014 20:37

Ecstatic that I just got my invite to the stage 2 test. For everyone still in limbo, best of luck and I hope you get your invites soon :ok:

Kimmikins 7th January 2014 21:52

mangoPL

Have they confirmed that you definitely won't need to attend Stage 2? Have they not moved the motivation paper to this stage of the process? You may have done FEAST and DART but I think there are other parts now in Stage 2 that aren't covered by these tests.

Dottiehottie 7th January 2014 22:41

@mango - You are going to see stage 2 again for the paper test, but you will skip Dart I guess.

Emily19859 7th January 2014 22:48

I booked myself in for stage two 31st January , hotel booked for night before anyone else on jan 31st? :) :ooh:

mangoPL 7th January 2014 23:49

@Kimmikins and Dottiehottie - in received mail there was written: "we can request access to your test results from PANSA and then re-mark them against the NATS score criteria".

I suppose it means that if my results are good enough I will skip stage 2 and attend stage 3.
Of course I'm not 100% sure, but I'll find it out soon :)

eyesickle1 8th January 2014 01:42

I think I'll be booking in for the 31st as well, and getting a room in a Premier Inn nearby :) it's a 4 hour drive from the North-West for me! Looking through the document they gave us, feels like I'm back in my degree trying to cram everything.

Hannah222 8th January 2014 10:37

Seems popular, I booked for the 31st too! Haven't decided where to stay yet, or train or drive...its 3.5 hours :(

Emily19859 8th January 2014 11:00

I am going from Morecambe and booked into the 30th night at the premiere inn too!!!! Will be swatting up all night for the 31st !!!

Kimmikins 8th January 2014 15:38

@mangoPL - I went through over a year ago, and they've changed the process since then, so I don't know where they've put the Motivation Paper now (it used to be Stage 1). That others are saying they have material to revise does seem to indicate that it's now in Stage 2, so I wouldn't be surprised if they come back to you to say that you won't have to do the FEAST and DART aspects, but you may have to attend Stage 2 for the motivation paper.

mangoPL 8th January 2014 16:08

@Kimmikins - I see your point. In received e-mail there is also information that "As you have completed your assessment in September/October 2013, it would not be possible to attend a NATS Stage 2 assessment centre at this time.".
But then there is "
In order to progress your application further, if you complete the attached consent forms, we can request access to your test results from PANSA and then re-mark them against the NATS score criteria.".

I am not sure what does it mean, but I suppose if they request access to my test results - it's possible for me to go ahead. But we'll simply see what's going to happen about that :D

Dottiehottie 9th January 2014 10:57

@mango . That is 100% correct. FEAST and DART results are saved only on EUROCONTROL servers and in order for NATS to access them, you need to sign a disclosure form; but remember, success standards are specific for each ANSP. So pray that Poland has the same standards as NATS, or that your results are within NATS standards.

mangoPL 9th January 2014 11:05

Yeah, I know it all :)
In fact, I don't really attach importance to this recruitment process, I just thought 'why not?' and apllied. I was simply surprised that the day after passing stage 1 I received e-mail with congratulations etc :)

Good luck to everyone who's going to take feast and dart in January.
It's really tough to pass them both, but with a cool head it could be done :)

AkwGon 10th January 2014 18:45

Hey guys,

I just confirmed myself in for stage two 7th Feb. Someone else is going in this day??

BiaP 10th January 2014 20:02

I'm going on 23/1/2014. I booked it 2 days ago but for some reason I was unable to choose a later date... :uhoh:

Anyway, good luck to everyone else who's going. :)

pmrsmiffy 10th January 2014 20:30

Hi All,

To anyone who's recently applied online.

I'm just filling in the application form but it's not exactly the most user friendly application I've ever completed.

In the Work Experience section I'm not clear on whether they're wanting a comprehensive list of all my previous jobs or just my most relevant experience.

Will they ask for a copy of my CV later on which has my employment history on it?

Does anyone have any advice on what they did?

Freddles 10th January 2014 20:54

Stage 2 14th January

Hi there,
Anybody else going to the Stage 2 tests on the 14th?
Forking out £140 just through travel and accomodation alone haha

Pretty much constant swotting up til then..

HoneyPotter 11th January 2014 19:19

I have my stage 2 assessments on the 23rd January! I can't wait! But until then my days all consist of studying the 30 page bookletwe have been given.

Anyone else heading up on the same day?

kevinsales 12th January 2014 15:00

7th Feb

@AkwGon hi, congrats on securing a date, I too have booked myself in for the 7th Feb..... and a nice 6+ hour drive from Newcastle.

Hopefully it will all be worth it :)

Have you applied for NATS before?

Emily19859 12th January 2014 19:24

Anyone going down on the 30th and staying in the premiere inn before the test on the 31st? I am travelling down from the north west a nice five hr drive!
Congrats to everyone who has got through and look forward to hopefully meeting some of you on the day.

Emily

Richjonesy 13th January 2014 13:55

Got my tests at the end of the month to.

Anyone know where to find info not included in the document sent to us by NATS. I've read through this about a million times and want to know where else I can find relative stuff as there is so much rubbish out there to sieve through.
