47kup the road...its 47k once validated, 30k per child for schooling. Additional benefits are pay deducted when/if you are medically suspended or have a loss of sep(atco fault) until reinstatement, free rostered standby shifts during off days...12 days a year...gone, no compensation. Repatriation dropped from 30k to 15k. Go arounds and entire culture is punitive.

SZC ACC
Does anybody have any info on SZC's current status in terms of morale/staffing? I was invited to an APC there with only flights/hotels covered (no food or local transport), and was wondering if it's worth the move.
If anybody also has information on the APC content/difficulty, that would also be appreciated.

I’ve applied as well and I’m really curious about what to expect, so I’d appreciate any info you can share about the process or the contents.

Hey, thanks for sharing! If you don’t mind me asking – when did you apply for the position, and how long did it take for them to get back to you? Also, do you know when the APC is scheduled to take place?

I can get back to you with more info once I move along the process. How long ago did you apply?

I applied in early Feb, they got back to me last week for a virtual interview which was just a short questionnaire about my experience. 2 days later, they said they want to move forward with the APC program. My APC date is in early May, and they were completely inflexible with the timing for it.

I applied recently—didn't know about the opening earlier. Do you happen to know anything about the terms and conditions of employment? It feels a bit strange flying across the world for an APC without even knowing the salary or contract details. Would be great if you could share any info you find out along the way. Good luck with the next steps!
Salary: 58k AED/mo, no relocation/housing assistance provided
PTO: 34 days annual leave, 15 days sick leave but need MC
Health Insurance provided
Shifts: Standard rotation is 2 days, 2 swings, 2 mids and then 3.5 days off (working 6 shifts in 10 days, but the last mid eats up half your day off)
My source said work environment is trending downwards, but it seems like that's how it is in much of the ATC world right now. Which part of the world are you coming from?

The only pro that I can think of is UAE has no income tax. They'll get you in other ways, so I agree that it's not worth it with the current compensation package.

I just finished with the APC there 2 weeks ago, and that offer is 100% current. From speaking with the instructors there, it seems the controllers there are quite disgruntled with the compensation, as they have not received a real raise in 14 years. The reason pay has stagnated is that SZC is run by the government, whereas the TWR/APS are run by other organizations.

What’s a comfy life for you? Can you give an indication of monthly expenses for living? I’m curious since if I’d decide to apply and get a place, we’d be 4 on my salary.

So since the guys seem to be crazy about documents (required of me spent half my day filling them up with nonsensical questions) even before any interview, which is way opposite any experience I had previously where CV and the basic documents (licence etc) were more than enough even after the exercise up to singing the contract… while offering no info in return so I guess they expect me to waste a lot of my time with the high chance that I’ll be unhappy with the salary and benefits they offer… but I digress:
I just want to confirm if anybody knows.
What’s the salary and package of radar approach Dubai with gans and if they really don’t pay travel expenses for training/exercises?
thanks

I really hope you didn’t jump into the fire with GANS. It’s more than 8 years since I left there and from all reports it’s gone down hill fast from what was an already horrific base. T’s & C’s pale into comparison with other “major” airports in the region. That’s why they won’t tell you before you attend the APC, if you knew, you wouldn’t bother. Morale is at an all time low. Everyone who can get out is getting out. Same old same old. Worst employer of my career by a country mile. OMAA is a job for the desperate. Wherever you are now is better than uprooting and moving to the UAE to make yourself miserable. You have been warned.
