Hey guys, so i took phase 1 and didnt pass 
I think the biggest stumbling block was my english as it is not very good, I did really badly in the listening test but i heard its not the most important exam but i managed the reaction and cube tests really well!
The hardest test for me was the landing instructions because you had alot of rules to remember and i kept going back to the instructions wasting alot of time! a good memory is a plus!
in the coordinates and headings test the rectangles was 10x10 but diagonally was it 7 or 8?!? i cant stop thinking about the test and how i could have done it better
I hope to suceed next time as im still young

Well the landing instructions test wasn't that hard, you only had ~3 rules to remember. The fun part about that test was having to decide quickly which plane has priority.
And about the coordinate system, if it's 10x10, the diagonal is 14. (a2 + b2 = c2)

Hi tsorin thanks for your response like i said my english is pooor 
i didnt think to use pythagoras now it seems obvious! i was writing my post on a long train back to Czech Rep and was abit distraught.

Hello, I had the test on 25-11-2009, passed the morning phase and went through the afternoon one. Strip management display.. I had no idea of what it was about before experiencing it directly.. you have a sort of excel paper in which there are columns that are airports with strips that are flights.. you have to keep the strips in order of time by drag and drop, insert the new ones, find possible collisions, change details according to frequent voice messages ecc.. a lot of tasks all togheter. I failed this.. I suggest to prepare english well, especially the listening, and remembering, of numbers, (however memory techniques such as converting numbers in letters and making words with them are really not useful in this case..it's just about number of flight..358, hours 15.56 and height 159 for example..) and to relax during the 1.30 hours of training before the real test..and to try seriously to perform all the tasks they give.. I think I made a big mistake by not considering one kind of them (the most time-absorbing one) just to try to do better the others.
This is a piece of the mail I've received.
"Unfortunately, you did not pass these tests. We therefore regret to inform you that we will not proceed with your application. We understand that you may be disappointed at this stage but we are sure that this decision was made in order to avoid future disappointment for you or the Organisation." (rightly quite firm).
If you were there that day, you may understand who I am; one of the italian guys; I met in the bar with a Scot, whom later on I had no occasion to say goodbye to. Goodbye and good luck to you all

Hi everybody on 24th November I've passed FEAST Phase 1 and then received an e-mail, that I was successful and they will contact with me for further pass through Phase 2.
Can anybody say what should I expect, is it easier then Phase 1?

It depends.
For me it was less than 2 weeks and I know people that had to wait more than 4 weeks.
You should tell your friend not to worry

At phase 2 they test abilities, other than those tested at phase 1. So if you lack these abilities it might seem harder.
You should prepare your english. You will have to talk. Being quiet is definitely a no-no.Practice by speaking out loud and try to be as intelligible as possible

Well, I took my stage one tests on Weds 25/11 so firstly, hello to all those who were there and who I spoke to! It was great fun meeting lots of different nationalities!
I didn't get through the morning stage and was deeply disappointed after thinking I had done well. I now have feedback and despite "excelling in all the other tests", I failed the cubes test by 2 marks... 2
marks!!!
Absolutely gutted right now and am thinking perhaps this career isn't for me as I've now failed on the basis of cubes for both Eurocontrol and NATS. Searched everywhere on the net for books etc. or teaching guides on how to improve this important skill but not having much luck so far! If anyone has any tips I'd appreciate help!
What angers me is that the lady who gave me feedback told me that if a candidate managed to scrape by in every test by the minimum required, they would get through to the afternoon but someone like me who scores highly in all parts but narrowly fails one part is rejected! Just feel hard done by... even though I realise the rules are the same for everyone!
My advice to people taking the tests is the following:
1. If you are a non-smoker, make sure you specify this when confirming the hotel arrangements!! I'm not a smoker but ended up with a smokers room so my sleep the night before was terrible!
2. Practise bearings and exercising your short term memory.
3. Don't get wound up about it all like I did... the tests are very well explained with practice examples beforehand and are strangely enjoyable (aside from the cubes obviously!)
It seemed like a great place to work and everyone in both the test centre and Maastricht in general were very friendly! So I am quite depressed frankly and of course, due to my age, I cannot re-apply! I wish I had thought of this career alot earlier... I was one of those who did not know what I wanted for breakfast at 18, let alone what career I should pursue!!
Best of luck to all those applying in the future and thankyou to everyone on this forum for all the help I received beforehand!

In the 'Divided atention test' how many squares did you have to watch at the same time?
In the 'Learning and applying rules' how many rules did you have at the same time? Numbers or shapes & colors?
In the 'Strip display management test', did the 'collision allert' appear at the bottom?
(The other day I tried that test with my friend, and in the last test -the flightstrips test- when there was a conflict, a numer appeared at the bottom showing you that you have a conflict in the strips and you have to find it. Is that advantage -the number- given at the afternoon of the Phase1?)

Interview
It is then strange because I am waiting for more than 2 months and I have not received also any feedback since the interview. It is written on their website that they will inform the candidate about being successful or not for every phase of the selection. Maybe I should have phoned them but I do not see any point of that as I was not told to do it.

Loadcontroller, call them and ask. Maybe it's not too late I didn't even remember that we were supposed to call one week after the interview, just checked my e-mails and found the result of the interview. So the e-mail was sent after I had got the result by phone.
