Air Transats just popped up due MAN in the morning, TS81 @ 0800, TS82 @ 0845, TS83 @ 0915, these must be the ones sat around in Europe right now.

Still have a feeling they wont be needed...

TBSC 1st October 2017 20:55

No clue if that's normal but in LTN they also park on south stands and the hangar line.

Tomomac33 1st October 2017 20:57

I'm a Monarch FO, MAN based. I have a family, commitments, all the other jazz.

Life goes on. I refuse to have my life ruled by the people or circumstances responsible for this, whoever it or they are.

Without pointing fingers at any particular individual - how can it be acceptable that the way I find out about my job is through this avenue?

I thank you all for reporting the facts, I even thank you all for reporting the fiction - because that's all we have to plan our immediate futures on. Our peers are no where to be seen.

For this reason only, I wish someone could be held accountable, but suspect not.

I wish you and your colleagues all the best whatever happens. I agree with you that in your hour of need their is no one to answer your questions is totally unacceptable. I hope you get closure on this debacle ASAP.

Seems logical thank you

Not a great sign. Month view, on a dummy booking on LBA->ALC, although it will allow me to progress to the payment screen

Tomomac33

There is the possibility that over the coming days, you will be an employee of BA

Good luck in whatever happens

lee757 1st October 2017 21:07

@mrmoose
It's been like that since this morning for pretty much all dates and destinations.

RCV212 1st October 2017 21:10

Sadly this is looking terminal....

Regarding the numbers of a/c being queried..A further clue may be last year when the aircraft intended for repatriation all positioned or had in the system ready for use the airline flying as prefix but then the pre-existing MON digits to the particular allocated service...
It makes sense to all involved parties to fly ALL the pax home on the same flight they were due to with MON originally & then re-distribute costings later..
Evidently MON is solvent @ the present time with £10`s of millions in the bank too so call could be made on those funds to help their customers unprotected by ATOL.

01475 1st October 2017 21:17

The Ibiza flight is boarding; that's a good sign?

AirportPlanner1 1st October 2017 21:21

In the event Monarch do fail come the morning, what would happen to their slots at LGW in particular but also elsewhere? Would they become the 'property' of the administrator to sell onto someone else e.g. BA, or by ceasing to exist and thus not using the slots would the slots revert back to the airport's ownership? If the latter, might that increase he prospect of Monarch flying on for a time?

It leaves before the deadline of 2359 so it's normal

lee757 1st October 2017 21:21

Both BHX and LGW are showing as boarding - but again that happened last year it was just late.

Still dont understand why they are chartering multiple planes especially the wide bodies for 5%. You could put these people onto other flights without chartering anyone.

Not really the statement from the CAA stated holidays booked for travel upto Sunday would be covered by the extension or words to that effect

HH6702 1st October 2017 21:23

It looks like the CAA are pulling both their ATOL and AOC license

The training re airlines for insolvency practitioners is don't let a plane touch the ground abroad after the failure is public, unless there's just no way you can avoid it.

lee757 1st October 2017 21:25

@HH6702 - whats the source?

HH6702 1st October 2017 21:29

@lee757

There isn't a source but if they were just to close the holiday side down ATOL (5%) then they wouldn't need all these flights coming over and monarch would still be flying
