Correct. 13 in the air headed back to UK, the last has just lifted from LCA and due back to LGW in 3.5 hours.

That is dreadful news for the passengers who must have had their expectations raised that they would get their holiday.

So do I book additional flights with Jet2 for November?

Apparently the LGW was in the middle of boarding when it was cancelled

I'm due to fly with them next week and back in two weeks (flight only package but thankfully booked on credit card). I'm going to make alternative flight bookings for £260 tonight so as not to jeopardise a £2500 cruise and holiday with friends.

We can't tell and we don't know for certain, but it looks incredibly bad. If I was in your position there's no right thing to do (and the last time I was in your position re an airline I did the wrong thing...)

I left a year ago after the last round of nonsense over the ATOL renewal and I'm very saddened to see it hasn't been sorted out in the interim. I'm a bit confused by it all really, as it depends on which entity is having the issue with the renewal.

Whatever it is, then I wish all of my former colleagues the best with whatever happens. I hope for a last minute reprieve and for this to be sorted out, but after having been through too many close shaves in the last few years, I'm just hoping that this isn't one too many.

Fingers crossed all. I feel for all of you and I know exactly how this feels, it's just rubbish.

I can't really see anything other than worst case scenario coming out of this, unless somebody can explain otherwise.
