Nah it just makes the competitve route at LCY much busier. The Piccadilly Line from LHR is bad enough without having a go on the Central Line to Northolt. No one flies destinations split by p2p and connecting on different flights, they go hand in hand. You force move anything to NHT from LHR you kill connectivity which is the selling point of LHR over LGW, STN and the rest.

You would quite spectacularly put any such carrier at a copmpetitive disadvantage and face immediate legal proceedings.

Any press releases scheduled for tomorrow for the suggested long awaited release of the rest of summer15?

Flybe said on their twitter to customers this morning that the remaining summer schedules will be released around the 10 th ,which is Wednesday!

So is it tomorrow or Wednesday ?

Well I would be inclined to believe what Flybe has said on their own twitter page. Historically Flybe make announcements on Wednesdays.

I've not looked at frequency, but you can now book Alicante, Malaga, Milan, Faro and Bastia from Southampton Airport for the summer. Milan appears to be on the Q400, the others on the E195 per the booking seatmap.

No surprise here.

Alicante and Palma have competition and were mostly twilight flights and I believe they suffered from operational issues on the routes. Florence I have been told was the same with the runway there. Reykjavik has had Icelandair muscle in on the passenger numbers.

With Cologne BE serve Dusseldorf just along the road and Cologne has not worked which ever operator has tried it and BHX locals were surprised when it was launched.

There is an extra Amsterdam and Jersey in the timetable ( 3 to 4 and 2 to 3) so it is not all bad news.

I made a phone call to flybe about a month ago regarding an exisiting booking in which they had changed the flights time on...

During the conversation I asked when the October 2015 flights would be on sale to which the gentleman said late November 2014...

Does anybody in the know - know when October 2015 will be released for sale?

This flight will be my 6th return flight from Birmingham Airport of which this will be my 3rd return flight with flybe over the course of 2015 - I wish to book up as soon as possible as I have a LONG long haul flight to book aswell then all my flights will be booked for 2015

I honestly don't know why people twist at flying a Q400. I commute by A319/320 and Q400 and find the Q400 to be almost exactly same as Airbus.

There's more space, and the head rest actually allows you to rest your head on nice and comfy. If you want a jet then trail to your nearest large airport. If you want comfortable comvenient then BE have the service for you.

More space, large windows, comfy (although admittedly flimsy) seats, quiet, friendly crews, boarding music, mood lighting and even a thank you chocolate. I'd have no problem flying on flights upto three hours. Most BE hops are less. Ifind people want jets on every service then you're dillusional. It won't work.

I wonder if those who whinge about the Q400 have actually flown them or understand the basics (and I mean real basics) of running an airline.

My second EXTLCY flight and load seems improved over last month, I also paid more albeit a last minute ticket the yeild much have been shocking, but that's becusse it's a Tuesday afternoon in December.

FlyBE has come up with a new marketing twist - "Purple Wednesday".

Book until midnight for £30 returns (£15 one-ways) e.g. on BHX-HAM/HAJ/STR/MSP/OSL, travel period early JAN'15 to mid-FEB'15.

That makes you exceptional, the general public still find propellors to be archaic regardless of what the balance sheet suggests, which is why everyone went for the barbie jets whem fuel was a whole lot cheaper.

Skipness - what makes your opinion any more valid than anyone else's? Please provide the survey results of the flying public which I assume has been completed allowing for the prop vs jet conclusions...

Such an old and tiring debate - getting bored now. I also don't care whether I am on a prop or not as long as I get where I want to go.

Not THAT exceptional. I have absolutely NO complaints about flying the DH8-400, either.
