Does anyone know where I can find a seat map of the E175?
|
Most accurate one is on BE website, select a flight on booking page that is operated by E175 and follow through as if to book it, seating plan is on bottom of the page. Also input flight number on seatguru.com, seat expert.com or seat plans.com

Surprised to see that Some of the older Dash8's that were WFU earlier this year are being Brought back into service. Happened to 2 of them so far. Any reasons why? :)
|
It's all explained in here - slide 4
http://www.flybe.com/corporate/inves...esentation.pdf Five aircraft were stood down EOL, earlier this year. It now appears that these are the aircraft being bought to service the LCY expansion. |
Ah OK :) Nice to see :)

BHX-FLR
Having used this route not long after it had started I have been pleasantly surprised by the good loads but noticed the lack of punctuality.
I received a 60:60:60 voucher after we sat on the aircraft for an hour whilst the right tow-bar was found but recently it has gone really downhill. There seems to have been a change most days from the 175 to 195, is this due loads or performance issues? 18 out of 50 flights show red on the link below and there are few greens. BE1847 - Flybe - Flight history - Flightradar24 There was about 85 on my flight and temperatures of around 24c on departure and although the climb was slow there seemed plenty of runway left on take-off. Lovely flight on the 175 by the way, very spacious and of course the 2+2 seating is fantastic if travelling in 2's or 4's. Pete |
Olton Pete - the change to the E195 is due to performance issues.

OP
In the interest of balance another UK operator with similar aircraft; BA3280 - British Airways - Flight history - Flightradar24 Even the larger embraer will be limited with the right(wrong?) combination of Weight, Temperature and runway state as would any manufacturers aircraft at FLR. AFAIK Flybe pay for the whole runway length, which they often use. It's also a good investment in case they need to use all of it, even if they don't plan to. There's also the inconvenience of a large granite obstruction at the far end of rwy 05 to consider in the event that some of the engines the manufacturer fitted elect not to operate when required. Seats are definitely a plus:ok: |
BHX - FLR
Cheers for the replies.
I just hope that this doesn't affect the long-term future of the service as the 195 won't be around that long with flybe. Pete |
I must say it did confuse me that Flybe seemed to rule out using the E175's on leisure routes from SOU as they don't have the range off the short runway before launching a route of similar length from BHX to an airport with a runway of a similar length!

Dash 8's
Re Post 315
Just to give an example, Dash 8 aircraft DP last commercial flight in winter was 19/01/2014 and it reappeared on 8 July and it has been given the purple treatment. It has just operated Manchester - Aberdeen although it was BHX based to start with but has since moved on. Going back to the BHX-FLR and delay issues, although a few cancellations this week flybe seem to have worked hard with the BHX schedule whatever that has been thrown at them including a two-day tech issue on the Cello RJ85 they were using and a lightening strike on Monday on a 175 just out of BHX for Milan - aircraft has not flown since. They were even using the other 46 seat Cello aircraft at one point. Pete |
Brussels Airlines
Brussels Airlines
I have noticed that the winter BHX-BRU has started to show flybe as the operator on three of the five flights again and I am sure they were originally showing as Brussels Airlines aircraft. Has flybe signed an extension as I believe the two aircraft were due back in late October or is this simply an website showing out of date information? 175's Embraer 175 JH was struck by lightening on departure from BHX on Monday evening and diverted back in and has still not returned to service. Is there an ongoing problem or has it just been incorporated into routine maintenance following the post-strike check? Ironically flybe have two Dash 8s covering 175 schedules today as two of the jets seem to be out of service today earlier today although seem to be flying from lunchtime (JC & JE). Also JA has not flown since the 4th July. I assume it is not all routine maintenance as it seems a strange time of year to have all this planned although to be fair the BHX winter schedule for aircraft utilisation is as good as anything I have seen in recent years compared to past winters where aircraft are parked up for days. Exeter also has a Fokker 100 operating and BHX the Cello RJ85 - sounds all very expensive. Pete |
Anyone know how the NQY routes are doing ?
I see that flybe have extended the LGW-NQY route into 2015. cs |
cs
I operate the NQY flights on a regular basis and whilst I haven't got official figures I can tell you the loads are fantastic on virtually every flight. |
As previously posted on the Newquay thread.
NQY-LGW is back to 3 daily from October 20th and will now run until 6th January, scheduled and bookable including BA codeshare ! cs |
Also I notice that the loads and prices on MAN-NQY remain very strong, how long until flybe make this route x2 daily ?
Take for example the remainder of this week...... 15th £100.35 16th £95.35 17th £131.35 18th £sold out 19th 1st flight £131.35 19th 2nd flight £128.35 20th £105.35 21st £100.35 22nd £141.35 Now I know that this is peek travel time for NQY but this is a 1 hour flight on a 78 seat Q400. I understand that adding capacity will dilute the yield etc, however this does suggest to me that demand exists on this route for either a larger aircraft which will be difficult as the route is mainly flown on the NQY based Q or for extra rotations. just my thoughts. cs |
Simon this is very peak, especially ex-MAN. As you know, Kernow fills up in July, and this is the week the schools break up, so it doesn't get much more peaky!
I trust BEE won't base their long-term plans on this week.... |
Oh I know that LGS.
But this is a trend with this route as is shown on the month in month and year on year numbers from the caa. This route previously supported SZ 2 or 3 daily year round and a WW seasonal 737 so demand does exist for additional capacity both peak and off peak season. cs |
Flybe Group plc
("Flybe" or "the Group") Flybe and Bombardier Sign Strategic Services Agreement for UK Branded Fleet Farnborough, UK; 15 July 2014 Flybe and Bombardier have signed a strategic services agreement which confirms the Bombardier Q400 as Flybe's aircraft of choice in its UK branded business and sees Bombardier undertaking a major programme of enhancements over the coming months which will make Flybe's current 45-strong Q400 fleet one of the most operationally efficient regional fleets in the world. Saad Hammad, Flybe CEO, commented: "We are delighted that Bombardier will be supporting Flybe in its mission to become Europe's best local airline. The immediate actions we announced in November 2013 have resulted in us reducing our 2014 summer seat capacity by 16%. In the UK today, Flybe is flying the right aircraft on the right routes and, critically, in the right numbers. This strategic agreement with Bombardier is an important part of our commitment to profitable regional flying. The Q400 is specifically optimised for regional routes and the Flybe fleet will be one of the most operationally efficient regional fleets in the world. Any decisions regarding incremental capacity deployment in the UK will see the Bombardier Q400 aircraft play an integral role." Ray Jones, Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Asset Management at Bombardier Aerospace, said: "Flybe is a valued, long-time Bombardier customer and as one of the largest operators of the Q400 in the world, we are pleased that Flybe continues to show its long-term commitment to the Q400 aircraft. Embarking on a strategic agreement that will assist in its Q400 aircraft fleet enhancement will be integral to Flybe's market competitiveness." |
This has to rank as one of the most meaningless press releases ever. What does it actually say? Reading between the lines, one could be forgiven for thinking that Bombardier have done some sort of deal to take back the surplus Flybe Q400s on condition that if Flybe need more aircraft, they take them on again? Or is it just about operational reliability enhancements?
