Thats disappointing with TCX,thought they may have increased S10. Though their LCA may be operated by ECA as it is this year.

Also I cannot find PFO from CWL with TOM in S10....surprised if they dont operate this route as it was twice weekly S08 and I believe it has sold well S09.....anyone know if this is the case?

Perhaps more to come?

planenut321 28th June 2009 18:18

All I will say is wait and see, S10 is 1 year away and the market is still delicate so the airlines are just sticking their feet in the water to test it before they make the leap with the more 'risky' routes :ok: don't worry....things can't get much worse....

Gerona- Stops on the 6th October
Gran Canaria- Stays at 1 per week
Heraklion- Stays at 1 per week
Ibiza- Stays at 3 per week
Kefalonia- Stays at 1 per week
Kos- Stays at 1 per week
Lanzarote- Stays at 1 per week
Larnaca- Stays at 1 per week
Malaga- Stays at 2 per week
Menorca- Stays at 1 per week
Monastir- NEW ROUTE- 1 per week on a Wednesday
Palma- Stays at 3 per week

Reus- Stays at 1 per week
Rhodes- Stays at 1 per week
Sharm El Sheikh- Stays at 1 a week
Tenerife South- Stays at 1 per week

Not too bad, there is a loss of 2 rotations (ALC and GRO) but a gain of 2 with new routes to Monistir and Antalya. I think a gain of 2 new routes is better than nothing.

Also the VRN will be stopping this year. Looking at the times for next year there is no gap for it plus loads have been very poor this year.

caaardiff 7th July 2009 15:44

Further to the above.....
Looks like TCX have dropped MAH and FAO, and now only 1 PMI instead of 2.
Bodrum now x2 weekly - Mon/Sat (previously x1)
Dalaman now x3 weekly - Mon/Fri/Sat (Prev twice on Mon) The Sat departure at 0900 must either be a sub or an aircraft will position in.

TOM/TCX seem to be sharing on each others ACE/LCA (LCA ops by ECA for TCX)
Monastir will continue in S09 for TCX as well on Sun.

Surprising to see ALC down to only 1 flight between TCX/TOM!

But with these route changes between them both, it still leaves scope for another aircraft with all the routes being dropped/changed. Now to just wait and see!...

No new airport access road

Announcment by Welsh assembly today; in addition to cancelling the M4 relief route around Newport plans for the new airport access road have also been shelved, under the new 5 year transport strategy for Wales.:rolleyes: Nice to see the Welsh goverment putting their full support behind their own regional airport!!!!!! NOT!!!!!!!!

Spoken to a good source at Cwl and apparently BAMC has a very uncertain future ! Any news on whats happening?

HDP 31st July 2009 10:09

Anyone know why Air Nostrum are operating a CRJ2 into CWL today at 19:20? It's coming from Amsterdam apparently. Sub for a KLM plane?

OliWW 31st July 2009 10:14

Its something to do with Cardiff City playing Valencia, not sure why its coming from AMS though, departs tomorrow evening at about 19:20

MUFC_fan 31st July 2009 11:59

ryanair

anyone got any thoughts on ryanair cwl for one of the top uk citys and they dont fly into

FR is set to open one new base in Britain — housing up to three aircraft — by the end of October.
O'Leary said yesterday that the company is considering three airports for the new base and could be in a position to make a further announcement within the next fortnight, with the new hub possibly being operational by the end of October. Mr O’Leary said that Ryanair currently flies to two of the three airports being considered. It would bring to 34 the number of European hubs, Ryanair operates

TCX CWL SSH Winter 09/10

Any idea what aircraft the above will operate on? A320 with a full load - not me thinks!!

Also FR into CWL - given CWL's winter load issues would be amazed

Em0866 2nd August 2009 15:23

We could speculate on FR coming to CWL til the cows come home but will it get us anywhere? Given that MO'L is considering a total of 3 airports before deciding, who knows

mathers_wales_uk 2nd August 2009 22:45

TCX - SSH

It has been said before that the SSH will be operating on a 757

mustrum_ridcully 5th August 2009 11:01

Arrrgh, not Ryanair again...

Ryanair fly into an airport that is an hour away, which isn't that far, Frankfurt Hahn, London Luton/Stanstead are all about 1 hr away from the actual city they serve.

CWL had the chance of getting a decent ryanair base but instead they managed to make ryanair leave! Ryanair will only move back if they stand to make £££.

YYZ to return?

Hey guys,

was just looking at the route map on TCX website and CWL is listed as a dest from YYZ.

Doesn't appear the other way nor in the booking form.

HRG is also listed.

Some new flights for CWL maybe?

Yes,wrong continent: Base: Cardiff Toronto US (south West)

planenut321 9th August 2009 10:04

Firstly you are reading''Cardiff Toronto US (south west)'' wrong! There is no Cardiff in Toronto, Toronto is not in the US and definatley not on the south west coast! and therefore leading to Cardiff (IN WALES), Toronto (IN CANADA) and a destination on the south west coast of AMERICA being the or some of the destinations. And due to it being the only Cardiff in the world that had a airline operate between Cardiff and Canada (Toronto and Vancouver), it must be our Cardiff....btw get your geography right. Wait and see nobody knows any more than anyone else.

Secondly with the Thomas Cook Map, they really need to sort that map out as many places have routes missing. My theory is that Hurgarda is meant to be Sharm and that as the Toronto one is only one way (YYZ-CWL) I assume it is the lasting legacy from last summer with them operating that route and they just haven't removed it yet.
