onur air as the contract back

Surprised the Tour Operator didn't have the sense to see this coming!
1 aircraft in fleet + busy summer schedule + lots of passengers = chaos when things go wrong |
Amsterdam is being reduced down the 3x daily from 4.

KL...
Any idea which flight ? 1255/1655 - can't be the others...??
Ta. |
Just seems to be for the winter though, but unlike other winters its lasting for the whole period Oct- May.
The flights leaving Cardiff during the winter are: 6:00 12:00 16:40 Compared to the summer: 6:05 11:20 13:35 17:35 |
Based on following Dates 09 Nov 09 And Looks like throughout Winter
KL1059 11:05 / KL1060 12:00 / 55 mins turnaround KL1063 14:10 / KL1964 16:40 / 2 Hour 30 mins turnaround All scheduled for Fokker 70 Aircraft I believe this is an excellent idea by KLM, Longer turnaround times allow the oppourtunity to recover some time if delays occur, it will also minamise disruption and delay if a Fokker 50 is required to operate the route. During the winter the occurance of a non-op flight should now be reduced if not removed as now the aircraft should be fuller. Due to the ecenomic situation it is great business sence and even though it is more bad news for Cardiff with a bit of luck next year we will see KLM flights picking up once again. No KLM Christmas Day / Boxing Day Flights this year. |
News
Thomson Airways increases number of flights from Cardiff Published: 10 September 2009 Thomson Airways is today delighted to announce that it will be increasing the number of flights from Cardiff airport to Tenerife and Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt). The extra flights have been added in response to strong demand from customers for these destinations from Cardiff airport. The revised flight programme will result in an extra flight per week to both Tenerife and Sharm el Sheikh from Cardiff airport from the end of March to the end of April 2010. This will take the number of flights operating from Cardiff to Tenerife to three per week, and the number of flights to Sharm el Sheikh to two per week during this period. Neil Morris, Strategic Planning Director for TUI Travel UK, said: "We are delighted to be able to announce more flights from Cardiff airport. Today's announcement demonstrates our firm commitment to UK regional airports, such as Cardiff, which offer easy access to faraway destinations for all our customers." Spencer Birns, Head of Air Service Development at Cardiff airport, said: "We welcome Thomson's decision to increase the frequency of services to Tenerife and Egypt which are both popular winter sun destinations. There is a strong demand in South Wales and we're glad to see Thomson recognising this need and responding by giving Welsh passengers more frequent services from their local airport. "We would encourage all travellers looking to get away this winter to look at what's available from Cardiff." At least its something... |
Not a surprise thats there is demand for Tenerife, over the last few years this has been served by 3 flights per week during the Winter.
Good to see an extra Sharm considering we also have TCX operating the route with their own aircraft this year too. |
Great to see that there will now be x3 weekly flights to Sharm el Sheikh from Cardiff - how about another Egyptian destination such as Hughada or Luxor ?
How about adding the Gambia during the winter, BRS has a weekly BJL flight so there is a market there. The Cape Verde Islands are also emerging as a top destination and how about Salzburg for the skiiers ? |
Lets not get too excited.
Its positive news for a welcome change but if I read the news right CWL getting an xtra flight to SSH and TFS for a grand total of ONE month at the end of W10?! Our friends at BRS must be chuckling at what we regard as good news. But lets hope its a start for more good things! |
i agree its only a month so nothing too get excited. over and i bet they are having a good laugh at us

C. Pacific
Is the C.P. been moved over to the fire station side?
Was by air BP for a while. is it for scrapping or re-use? thanks |
I think it's for scrapping but requires some maintenance to be flown out. Not sure how long it's going to remain here.
Initialy it was only supposed to be here for a week. |

WW GLA
The rumour mill has it that Bmibaby wont be restarting the GLA from 25th Oct. Another daily flight lost for CWL. :uhoh:
|
WW GLA
Well it is certainly not bookable!
The last time I looked it was bookable in winter but not next summer. It has now gone completely leaving the November and early December schedule looking very sparse. In fact one re-timing each weekend day and only two aircraft required until Belfast - Prague starts (which is a Cardiff based aircraft). Once Geneva and Grenoble start then three required Mo/Fr/Sat/Sun. Pete |
baby
i think baby lost interest in cwl
