This is good news and will be good to have a transatlantic flight again. Lets hope this is the first of good news.

Does anyone know if it's a direct service?

BMI Baby winter schedule

Firstly, at least the aircraft are very busy in Summer 2010 but
winter 2009/10 is vanishing by the day.

As mentioned yesterday Grenoble has gone (from all bases) but
the Nov/Dec schedule is showing.

ALC & AGP Tue/Sat
FAO - Sat
JER - Sat
BFS - five a week! No Tues or Sat service
EDI - Double daily in the week

GLA, PMI, MJV & BCN as previously reported non-ops.

I will check the post Christmas schedule but two aircraft
are barely needed some days pre Christmas.

CheekyVisual 26th September 2009 17:42

I heard a rumour they might need that third plane somewhere else. Mmmm.

Looking at the winter schedule it does look like that but you have to admit
summer 2010 looks quite good for utilization.

Interest comment anymore clues?

I believe the fleet is 18 with 14 required (5 EMA, 4 BHX, 3 MAN & 2 CWL) this winter leaving four spare.

I know they take a couple out for checks and some leases are due to
expire but the remaining 14 are hardly worked very hard, which could
be seen as realistic considering the trading conditions and this makes it even more interesting as to where this "spare" is to be placed.

How are BMI Baby loads doing at Cardiff does anyone know.

Only reason being is that i don't find them that cheap anymore when compared to easyjet from bristol plus they are now charging nearly £40 for a person to take 1 bag and check in at the airport.

With these kind of excessive charges i am not suprised people are going across the bridge to fly. They don't even offer anything imaginative looking at the destinations.

plaincrazy 27th September 2009 21:34

Loads for baby are pretty good for international flights, minimum of 110pax per flight, but havent seen a completely fully flight in a long time. Domestic does depend on what day it is, some are less than half full mid week.

Rachman 29th September 2009 23:00

I think baby are losing interest period. One crazy airline, imho.

Cardiff Airport to start charging for re-sealable plastic bags

New dispensing machines for transparent, re-sealable plastic bags

Published: 07 October 2009
In November 2006, the UK Government established requirements for the carriage of liquids in hand baggage onboard aircraft.
Click here for information related to those and other requirements.
As described in the requirements, authorized liquids must be carried in a single, transparent, re-sealable plastic bag, which holds no more than a litre and measures approximately 20cm x 20cm. Cardiff Airport encourages all passengers preparing for travel to supply and ultimately re-cycle their own bags. Re-sealable plastic bags meeting the Government's criteria are available from a variety of commercial sources and should be acquired before arriving at the airport.
For those still requiring a transparent, re-sealable plastic bag at the airport, Cardiff Airport will make available 4 bags for £1 from new, on-site dispensing machines beginning 2 November 2009. Free bags offered since the establishment of new hand baggage rules in 2006 will no longer be available after this time.

Why soooooo long to get these machines??

WATABENCH 8th October 2009 20:09

Its little profit making things like this where cwl are missing the boat so to speak, brs has had these for a good couple of years now, how about trolleys does cwl charge? £1 in bristol (non refundable) what about baggage wrapping and baggage scales, all charged for at brs, earning the airport more dosh, pax may moan a little bit but it all gets plowed back into airport eventually!

iflycwl 9th October 2009 14:26

Baggage wrapping facilities were available as part of the Left Luggage section run by Servisair Cargo before they closed.....

Whats the news with BMI baby - dropping more flights again at CWL, not looking very good is it !!!

pipertommy 9th October 2009 15:23

Which routes have been dropped this time?

mathers_wales_uk 9th October 2009 19:02

Im not sure if anymore has been dropped other than the Grenoble which is airline wide and the Glasgow which has dissapeared in the last week or so.

WATABENCH 17th October 2009 17:08
