take-off 6th October 2014 18:18

Some bad planning to let fuel run down to such a point , you can't supply the business's there, I have worked for a company before that closed 2 sites down before and understand to a point that you can't stock pile items , but the availability of basic items was kept up as far as possible , wonder what the announcement will be , I do think any future for airport will be without jet2 unfortunately , unless as has been said the local councils have something up there sleeve . Saturday's gazette had the front page , where the council is borrowing money to go towards building a Holiday Inn , now it's not like Blackpool needs anymore hotels , but even this one is likely to fail where they want to build it.

Read the last paragraph.

Yes Ernest I read that but my point is that Blackpool Airport have not even bothered to update their website. In fact as of 19.20 it still states arriving 19.25. I wonder how many people meeting passengers on this flight would delve deep into the Jet2 website to find the status of this flight.

Yes that's true. If the website is not being updated, the airport is not fully functional.
It is also very rude. someone could have updated the site - Not rocket science.

I just received an e mail from Jet2.com advertising flights from Manchester.

This is a first - I normally get e mails advertising flights from Blackpool and Manchester. Just a thought.

EDIT:

As soon as we are aware of any significant changes to our
My point was - the only 'significant' change, could be no flights to or from BLK. I may be reading to much I a paragraph.

First take-off - Who said Blackpool has run out of fuel? There was a mention in an earlier post, just a suspicion.

Good point over the hotels - begs the question. How many hotels does Blackpool have, that it needs more and how many airports, does

Blackpool have?

EDIT: Well Blackpool airport have updated their website.

They state the flight LS790 Dalaman19:25 22:30 Estimated 22:30.

Live Flight Tracking from Blackpool Airport

StoneyBridge Radar 6th October 2014 19:44

They state the flight LS790 Dalaman19:25 22:30 Estimated 22:30.
Diverted to MAN

salander 6th October 2014 19:58

Lancs

It was me who said it. And posted the notam. The airport has run out of fuel. CFMU showed both outbound flights tech stopping in East mids. Which will be why any inbounds divert to MAN.

LTNman 6th October 2014 21:21

They state the flight LS790 Dalaman19:25 22:30 Estimated 22:30.
Probably a bus transfer.

RoyHudd 6th October 2014 21:31

Sad

But Blackpool had its chance. And was never likely to take it, the odds being so much against the airport. I feel sorry for those whose livelihood depended upon the airport.

Yes, fully agree.

Ernest Lanc's 6th October 2014 22:14

salander I know it was you - I did not say that as you said "suspected"

I rather suspect it's more likely due to no fuel in Blackpool. I doubt the
-300 would be able to tanker in a lot on such a long flight. And if the airport
can't supply fuel I wouldn't be surprised if Jet2 move all the flights.
Are you saying you know now that BLK has no fuel?

LS751 - Tenerife-South is still scheduled to fly out from BLK at 09:00.

With the airport due to close on the 15th if no buyer found, why no fuel now?

Keepitup 7th October 2014 08:28

Fuel Company obviously aware of the situation and wont give fuel unless paid for upfront. Quick pass the hat around:ugh::ugh::ugh:

rudolf 7th October 2014 09:01

The contract would be between the fuel provider and Jet2, unless of course the airport is the provider!

eggc 7th October 2014 09:25

This mornings LS751 (BLK - TFS) is presently on the ground at EMA.

Ernest Lanc's 7th October 2014 11:41

(BLK - TFS) Estimated now at 15:07 As eggc says, was at EMA.

Who is not buying the fuel? - Closure date is not until the 15th.

It's a mess and the sooner it is sorted, the better.

salander 7th October 2014 13:07

According to World Fuel services the fuel provider at BLK is in fact the airport. Which would explain why any fuel company would want payment up front! Not sure why the airport haven't bulked up as they purport to still want customers. albeit ones who probably burn a fraction of Jet2's usage.

However looking at the latest notams the fuel one expired at 1200 today and hasn't been renewed. Two explanations I suppose. Either fuel has arrived or the notam hasn't been updated.

rudolf 7th October 2014 13:17

Or they are worried that they won't be paid because they are failing to meet their contractual obligations?

Keepitup 7th October 2014 13:56

Fuel was meant to be her for 10:30, but the Jet2 flight prior to this had to have a contractor with fuel to fill up.

Jet2 are also moving all ground equipment out
I am guessing this is a contingency plan for now

Ernest Lanc's 7th October 2014 14:17

So Jet2.com Flight 752 - I hour delayed from Tenerife South, will be landing at MAN.

We are supposed to have an announcement this afternoon, why don't they just say what they know?

NO flights are being updated by the airport, that could IOM and Dublin flights.

janeyTA 7th October 2014 14:49

why don't they just say what they know?
Because they probably don't know anything definite themselves at this stage?
