When will they offer seat only from HUY?
November

I understand there's plans for development there, including a hotel I believe (I could be wrong...just thought I read it somewhere).
There was a plan for a hotel but I think they scrapped the idea.

AndyHUY 13th August 2005 23:03

The plans were for a hotel and petrol station but if they could not find an interested company for a hotel then they wont bother building it!

I heard that they are to build a hotel at barnetby interchange so that may be why they shelved it?

I think the Barnetby Top one has been on the cards for nearly as long as the Airport's.
I am quite suprised the Airport has not built a small hotel unit, the KLM crew must rest up somewhere ditto the last Eastern of the day (unless they sleep 'in the cab'!), there must be a few 'early risers/distance travellers' for the 6am's and the rigs. The A18 is quite busy so might pick up some passing trade. If Travel Inn can make money from a hotel next to the steelworks then I would have thought a hotel at Humberside could.
(Isn't a 60 bed luxury hotel being planned for the Barton 'wetlands'? )

AndyHUY 14th August 2005 11:59

Maybe they just dont have the space for one, afterall they are building a large perishables hub! Where would they put a hotel and petrol station?

I suppose Mr 7006fan could give his mate Mr van Hoogstraten a call for him to hand out his self styled compulsory purchase oders to the nearby farmers. :}

I know there was to be a McDonalds at Barnetby top and then they pulled the planning application, maybe it was the same for the hotel

The new hotel will be at the Barrow Road/Falkland Way junctions. We already have one, Reeds Hotel at the nature reserve place

A petrol station could go on the business park, not so sure about a hotel

Any word on what the MyTravel was in for?

AndyHUY 15th August 2005 12:16

As posted on the Airhumberside website, Zakynthos on the Mytravel website for S06! I presume operated by XLA! I believe there is more to come! Keep 'em coming HUY!:ok:

SASfox 15th August 2005 12:34

Airtours is also showing Kos from HUY next summer but no flight details at the moment!

AndyHUY 15th August 2005 16:59

Looks like well have a very busy S06! Does anyone think it will beat S04? Maybe reach the 600,000 pax mark?

airhumberside 15th August 2005 21:14

Is the Helios flight still running on Wednesday?

aeulad 16th August 2005 16:49

Does the announcement of daily Geneva flights, and the arrival of easy at DSA mean anything to HUY...?!

I think HUY has been trying to pitch for business for years!!!

AndyHUY 16th August 2005 18:20

How do we know that rasy are going to DSA? They may well start a service from Geneva its not realy heacy competition for HUY though is it?

You have to realise that HUY is here to stay!

Excel Summer 06

Anyone looked at the Excel website recently? Looks like the programme has expended from the 7 destinations that were on sale originally. I count at least 10 now, after a quick scout through.

airhumberside 24th August 2005 13:12

New XLA destinations are Corfu, FUE and Gran Canaria, and maybe also Zante. The HUY website now has summer 2006 info on

7006 fan 24th August 2005 17:38

It's getting better all the time!
Now come on guys bring back the Paris route s'il vous plait!!
