As I posted a few weeks back and got shot down by my colleagues.
MAGMA have now finished at DSA due to ongoing uncertainty. |
Where have they moved to.

Magma are a cargo outfit so easy to come and go as they need to, to protect their delivery.
One would think relatively straightforward to win back, fi the airport does have a future. |

If that is so, and MAGMA have already left DSA, what is TF-AMU doing winging its way from NBO to DSA just now, and expected at DSA around 16:36 today? Are Astral flights not for MAGMA?

Because TF-AMU is on a different contract. Different customer.
So DSA has so far lost 50% or thereabouts of its regular cargo business. |

And what else is he going to say? Missed the bit where he said TUI would be happier to pay higher fees
|
Anyone else keep noticing some news outlets reporting TUI as being the sole carrier from DSA, despite Wizz still operating? Have made contact with them to correct this as it’s damaging the airport and no doubt impacting upon Wizz’s potential revenue. Every little helps!

If TUi didn’t want to comment they wouldn’t have. If they weren’t bothered all they’d say is ‘we’re monitoring the situation closely’ or something similarly anodyne issued by someone far lower down the food chain. I missed the bit where he was asked about higher fees, (and what they’re for), would you be kind enough to point it out? Whilst you’re at it could you provide links to any business leader say that they’re happier to pay higher fees, it’s not a stance I’m familiar with, be good to see a few examples. |

Except he's got tickets to sell. He makes nice noises and he can't lose either way - DSA stays open it's bums on TUI seats, DSA shuts and its bums on TUI seats soemwhere else of TUI's chosing. The more unertainty there is and people are likely to start drifting off to Jet2 at LBA, etc etc . Nothing he said will make the airport more profitable, which is the issue to be addressed.

Is the public announcement of what happens next on Monday 26 September ? If so, what time ?
|
Dear Colleagues,
The Strategic Review is ongoing with discussions between Peel and the South Yorkshire Partners continuing; and are likely to do so through the weekend. In the meantime, I understand you will be anxious to know the proposed timetable for announcing the outcome of the Strategic Review on Monday 26 September. To ensure the welfare of all staff on and around the Airport, the announcement will be made by Peel at 11:30am. I intend to do this regardless of the outcome, and notwithstanding what may appear in the Press or social media in the interim. |
|
We will see what happens
I still don't see anything but closure announced. |
TUI bringing extra staff across to DSA incase "some people are too upset to work" following the meeting on Monday.
|
Also noted the airfield is NOTAM closed on Monday between 11:30 local and 12:30 local, could just be so ops teams can attend the meeting.
