Still think more to come to Egypt. Jordan is pushing tourism quite hard now and has a growing middle class so this will probably work ok. |

Whenever there is a pay dispute at the airport, which is often, we never get any support from Labour councillors in Luton despite their trade union backgrounds. Maybe as they represent the owners they become capitalists.

Sorry, don't see the connection between the employer - GH Handling, and the airport & Council. This is an employee / employer issue??

Paying the staff too much would undermine the airports future, which is why, as the largest employer, the town needs to be kept poor to supply cheap labour.

I thought we were reacting to post #1985 which is to do with an outstanding £500 payment rather than having a general political discussion about the whole of the airline industry and the customer wanting to pay £9.99 to fly everywhere and the knock on affect that has?

It’s called the bigger issue. The owner, with its trade union roots never supports the workers working at its airport.
If I worked for Poundland and that shop happened to be owned by the council would I expect them to step in? If you are directly employed by council fair enough but this dispute is nothing to do with that. If you don't like your councillor's vote them out at next local elections but they are not going to get involved. |

What are you talking about. Why then did the owner of the airport step in and got get involved with bringing back Luton’s taxi drivers to the airport?. Would it be that many of the councillors are also taxi drivers?
To work on an airport taxi rank you need an additional license issued by local authority on private land. Does the employer GH Handling have any such agreement for its employees with airpor? If Wizzair say enough is enough and terminate their contract where does that leave the employees? This is no different from any other airport. Construction update
Due to the angle of the sun, taking photos was a nightmare. Started in June, the Dart forecourt at Parkway is making slow progress. It was meant to be a 12 week project.

Thanks for the update LTN man Need to get a move on with the Delta access to new stands as NOTAM expires on 31st October.

Looks like a strip of new concrete by the temporary fence by Delta will be poured first, as the foundations there are almost complete.

Is the big cement making machine still onsite between Long Term Car Park and the run up bay?
