So we’ll see what the stats say. Don't seem to be appearing in the CAA stats yet? |
LM has added extra flights to Dublin to cater for the Ireland v Scotland 6 nations game. Flights added on 31 January and 3 February according to Loganair's Facebook page.
|
That’s good news |
August pax figures for Carlisle routes are....Belfast City 1068 and Southend 709.....figures for Dublin still not showing in the CAA tables.
|
How does that play out as an average load?

They should......... the figures should be in the Public Domain

September pax figures
CAA stats are out for September.
CAX - SEN: 714 passengers CAX - BHD: 777 passengers I make it 18 rotations to Southend and 20 to Belfast (after the Saturday flights were canned in mid September) - so an average of 19.8 and 19.4 passengers per flight. |
Load factor for the first 3 months of operations averages 59%. Not too bad from a standing start on a previously unserved route.
|
I am sure Sobart and LM must be very happy.

Interesting quote:
Stobart Group’s Kate Willard, head of corporate projects, said a major part of her work now was to attract development on the land surrounding the complex. She said: “Even if flights were full all day every day, we must be clear that an airport - no matter what its size - is essentially a loss-making business. We need to constantly make sure it is sustainable - after all, Stobart Group is not a charity - and a big part of that is realising the assets of the land around the airport.” |
I see that Loganair intend to operate Dundee to London City from March using an ATR.
When Loganair eventually dispose of Saab, would a London City service ever be an option? |
Nope..Unlikely..definitely not enough business type traffic.. assessment-needed after first year of operation before any expansion I would guess? |
Out of curiosity, what are the transport links like between the airport and the coast?
I note that the Sellafield nuclear facility and the BAE Submarine facility are located on the Cambrian coast, both about 1.5 - 2 hours drive from the airport. |
The October stats are:-
BHD ..... 724 SEN ...... 578 |
BAE have their own airfield at Barrow, for the sub facility, served by daily shuttles to Farnborough.
