The Isle of Man flights are up online for sale - every Wednesday and Sunday starting 22nd July. The lead in fares starting at 85 quid return, and sales seem to be brisk !

( I still say Fridays and Sundays would have been better )

Wednesday allow or a few days break rather than a week or 5 days. Opens up the possibility’s for 3 night breaks or a week. I think a lot of people will be happy to see shorter breaks on offer.

Looking at timings, also seems the aircraft is based on the IOM?

The way I look at it the flights on a Wednesday arrive on the IOM at 13:40 for a half hour spin back out to GCI

I looked at a Weds-Weds return earlier and it seemed the reverse, but there may have been different flight times that day.

I have booked GCI to IOM 1200 returning IOM to GCI 1410 a week later. However I have also seen mid afternoon and evening times on different dates. Aircraft definitely based GCI.

They've upgraded the first 6 GCI - IOM flights from the ATR to the Embraer according to the Aurigny Facebook page

Seems fares have quickly started to jump up too. Demand must be strong.

But Friday and Sundays allow for weekend travel - and already quite a few people on social media have lamented that point. A weekend trip, five nights or a week would have brought more business. On the other hand, bookings seem to be coming in.... the ATR which was originally planned to operate the schedule is being replaced by the Embraer in the first few trips.

Apparently it has a few charters lined up over the next month or so.

Looks like the "journalist" pretty much put the posts from here in order with a few extra words to create her article (hardly a surprise).

Not heard anything today about how the Isle of Man sales have gone.

60% of all seats sold, I read. Some IOM-GCI flights in Aug now sold out.

I hope it is extended, I am on leave the first week of September so was hoping to go for a few days but it ends 30 August at the moment

Think Guernsey Press are getting their stories from this forum :-)

Anyway.... seems like Aurigny are going to be using the Embraer for all the Isle of Man flights. On one day in August they have scheduled two flights.

Why would "A weekend trip, five nights or a week" be any better than choices of a three night trip or a four night trip incorporating a weekend or a seven night trip incorporating a weekend?

Well said! The statement was made "tongue in cheek".

jijpc 3rd Jul 2020 17:32

Original Guernsey - Isle of Man services pretty much sold out and now additional services have been added. Some August dates now have both an E195 and an ATR72 service. Also services have been added in early September.

it’s not a big thing in the global situation but for the residents of both islands who want to get away without having to quarantine it has proved to be a great opportunity.

KindaUnstuck 5th Jul 2020 12:18

The Embraer has just been shown on the Sky Sports F1 coverage - looks like the GR15 from Luton - Graz was possibly for F1 media and operated from the private terminal at Luton.

Juliet Pouteaux and Guernsey Press can have that one for free if they want to run another pointless article

KindaUnstuck 13th Jul 2020 21:09

The Embraer flew Guernsey - Graz - Budapest - Guernsey today using GR11 and GR18 flight numbers, presumably moving Racing Point F1 from the Redbull Ring to the Hungaroring for this weekend's F1 race
