This to me is a positive as it will mean more PE which from my one only experience and feedback from other is good for the money. Hopefully it will see premium seats on the US routes compared to S18, JFK, BOS and SEA were the main routes to see the all economy layout.

According to Air Tankers Website, this would be the case, they only have until Nov 18 on record for TCX, and nothing for 2019 (confirmed at present for 2019 is the year-round G-VYGK and Jet2 on G-VYGL, a repeat of 2018) Anyone else got info on where GM is going?

Having just checked Jethros G-VYGK will swap TCX for EXS in March 19 so it appears if GM goes anywhere it won't be EXS or TCX as the previous poster mentions TCX will be air tanker free from Mar 19

Thanks for the clarification. It made sense given that the website said GK was 'Year Round' and GM was until Nov 18.
Then again, the same website also mentions Eurowings upto April 18, so info is definately out of date...

Off Stand 12th Dec 2018 13:10

There was a commercial agreement for GK to stop with TCX for S19. However, after review TCX have cancelled this. GK is due to a C check at the end of the lease and Tanker are looking for opportunities to place it after that (this is the latest info as of 2 weeks ago). GL and GM are currently planned to fly for EXS S19.

FR24 says G-VYGL which was at EXS all summer operated the JFK service today not GK. Has GK gone tech? Also is GL still in its hybrid EXS livery?

GL is now back in the white I believe.

G-VYGL landed into MAN from BZZ earlier this afternoon, parked on stand 29.

Condor have an Air Tanker A330 operating to BWI and CUN from FRA next summer.

Why would they announce that when they aren't going to be bust ?

Never, is the most obvious answer if I have interpreted UK Insolvency law correctly. Only an individual or partnership can be declared bankrupt and Thomas Cook are neither as far as I know. If you had said CVA, Administration or Liquidation then hopefully never.

It might be wise to consider how you phrase any future questions on this matter especially as many working for Thomas Cook either post and read the content on here or like me have literally just hit the send button booking a holiday involving this airline (By Credit Card)..

It never ceases to amaze me how grossly insensitive people can be on pprune as well as being so ill informed. A perfect example of someone with a keyboard and too much time on their hands without a care in the world about the livelihoods and careers of others.

Why do people in the UK love scaremongering and the thought of failure so much? Its the same on the Flybe thread, people can't wait for airlines to fail - unless of course it happens to be the airline they work for.

Guys, the only reason I asked is because some airlines never buck their ideas up and get with the times. Hence Flybe, TUi and Virgin.

I did not intend to cause offence; just wanted to know what the latest was regarding the state of TC.

Well, you should know better.

Thomas Cook are lagging behind the times in certain areas, it doesn't mean they will go out of business. And secondly any issues with Thomas Cook are likely to include the Tour Operator arm, not just the Airline alone.

Whilst I wholeheartedly agree with those who have said that talk of TC’s “bankruptcy” is selfish and sensitive to those who work there, it is interesting to see this response here, whilst seemingly the whole of pprune and every other Internet forum is having wet dreams about Norwegian going bankrupt every two weeks.

As an aviation industry community (assuming that’s what contributors to this forum are), we shouldn’t be willing anybody to be losing their jobs through company failure and/or redundancy. Airlines aren’t football teams and people’s livelihoods are at stake.

Hello hope someone can help.
Have a friend flying MAN-ACE-MAN 16/January rtn 23/January. Flight 1722 / 23.
They have Booked Seat on A321 (Avion) but have been told it’s now a A320 (Avion).
I had a look on skyscanner, it says A320 but when you go through to Thomas Cook theseat plan is A321.
The strange thing is, the return flight 1723 on the 23 January is showing full and a mock booking offers alternative airports. I just don’t think if it is a A321 or even the A320 that it would be fully booked mid January, not even one seat available, in fact there is no return availability ACE-MAN between 19th-30th January.

just looking to see if the aircraft is 320 or 321 on both legs and if someone can confirm total full on return.
thanks in advance for any help.

both legs showing as operating on an A321 Avion. There are no Avion A320 operating for TCUK during the winter.

GK is going to Condor for S19 not EXS. Due to finish TCX ops in March, have C Check then start operations for DE in May.
